made my 5th trip to Guess Bar sunday night hoping that my 4 previous visits were just bad timing. Arrived about 10pm with a friend, it was his 1st time, about 7 or 8 girls inside, 5 looking in the mirror applying makeup, 2 playing pool and one was unconsious on the couch with 1 tit hanging out, went and had a leak in the smelly toilets, (thought somethings havnt changed), got back ordered 2 drinks and were welcomed by 2 girls, "hello can buy me drink". Told them we would get them a drink as soon as we finished what we had, 2 more girls come over, "hello can buy drink for me". My friend retired to the couch with a lady and I played a game of pool, bought 2 lady drinks and had one lady stand by me rubbing my cock and groaning, was quite funny, she was rubbing my cock and making ou tshe was coming.
It must be me as plenty of you have a great time here, but to me it just doesnt cut it, just seems to be lacking a Boss, the girls just wander around like its their own room making no effort to make u feel welcome. They have no one to answer to whenever I have been there. Compared to C and D in Phuket its a non event, bit like chalk n cheese

Thats a shame I was looking forward to going there in a weeks time, hmm I know what you mean I got nutted into in Portugal last year in an upmarket whorehouse, Peter Stringfellows type establishmment in Vale de Cost a lot.......

And its the instant hussle when you arrive, all they were interested in was the drink formula, forgetting the inviting you in being served gently at the bar and settling in. Business must be bad & they cant help themselves but pounce on you .

Fine if youve had a couple and you are awash with dosh. But for any mans pound or Bhats you want to look, gain eye contact then engage the fun. All it does is put you off. Give the man time & he will settle & spend, cage him & he will want to break out and move on. The same applies to those awful lap dancing clubs that sprung up across the UK. Thats another subject paying £20 to allow a bird to drape herself across you for 3 mins with no contact. Very Odd

I will persevere and check the place out, maybe a friday or saturday night is better. Lets hope the management reads these comments and takes heed. If your running a class bar then it needs to be a class act. Maybe charge a bit more but make the experience good. Constructive critisism...........

Is there an equivalent in Pattaya like C & D,s as you mention. I am fresh white meat and the smell of fresh blood will be all too clear.

I don't want to sound like I am on a crusade here, as I have defended the Guess Bar before.
But you get out of a bar what you put into it.
I go there with my GF, who (for those who don't know) is a LB and a friend of Jays. So the girls are 100% guaranteed there will be no bar fines from me. But we have a great time.
We often arrive several hours before Jay gets in as she tends to arrrive late-ish.
We always get good hospitality, a lot of laughs, and a good pool competition going.
I think it takes a certain amount of input to get the best out of any bar. Buy a few drinks, gamble 20 baht on agame of pool with the girls... they will respond. And if they lose 20 baht? Good for you and better for you: it makes them want to play again!
We have done the same on Koh Chang, and also Koh Samui: Take a quiet bar and buy a couple of drinks and get the girls (and this was a GG bar in Lamai with a couple of femboys) playing pool and dancing to Isaan music.
Sometimes YOU have to be the party-starter.

I have never been to the New Guess Bar as I am not very much of a bar person but I also fear that I would not feel that great there although I would like to be with Jenny once - well, might never work out perhaps.

It is different if going with regulars or being a regular or being accompanied by yr lb-friend as foxee reports. I once went with Ozzie when Guess was still above KFC on Sukhumvit and was left alone.

As for comparing Guess and C&D, I talked about bars in general with a friend here in Pattaya the other day. In well run bars, the owner or a trusted person of the owner, ideally his wife or partner are present to keep an eye on things and watch the dough.

Here in Patts, Karl/Lita, Hansi, Bob, etc. seem to run a tight ship. We all noticed what happened to La Bamba as since Alis stepped down, there seemed to be no one in charge. Of course I am a bit speculating here ...

But it is not that different back home. In good establishments, the owner is there all the time.

Here we have guys that have never even been inside Guess Bar already giving their critiques.

I do recall one time Gong neglected to put my "Gin & Tonic" on a coaster, perhaps I'll boycott the bar and form a picket line out the front.

Sorry, if I stepped on someone's toes - was not my intention ...

But where do the bad comments come from? Obviously something is not going as well as it could. And the people who are regulars there might not notice, not care or let it go as long as it doesn't affect them (too much).

Questions is whether they make up a strong enough clientele to keep a bar in biz and whether it is me or not, any biz depends on new customers who hopefully become regular customers.

Trust me, whether I frequent Guess or not, I'd rather read raving reports about it and get the feeling that I'm missing sth by not going there than the other way around.

Of course you can always tell me to f*** off because of whatever reason but the facts remain.

Could someone come up with 3 (less are ok as well but 3 would be desirable) good reasons why someone who has never been to Guess, should go there?
And again, I am not trying to be a prick, it is a question I would ask referring to almost any business.

After all, this is a forum and I hope one person's opinion doesn't carry more weight than another's.

For the record everybody's opinion is valid, however I do think people need to at least experience something before deciding they don't like it.

I'm certainly not suggesting the place is perfect, but it's as good as it gets in Thailand.

Anyway, here are a few reasons to visit Guess Bar;

1. Guess Bar is a nice spot to meet fellow board members and chew the fat.
2. The girls are attractive and certainly don't hassle you anything like they do over at Nana Plaza.
3. There is no loud music & horrible cabaret shows.
4. There are comfortable sofas to relax on and get to know each other.
5. The girl getting intimate with you won't excuse herself because it's her turn to dance.
6. If you're hungry the staff will order you a pizza or some Thai food and have it delivered to the bar.
7. Gong mixes the best authentic Bombay Gin & Tonic in town.
8. Being able to look Jay "up & down".

Hi Chinaman,

Thats a fair question and deserves a fair response.

1. Unlike the bars in Nana you can sit and relax and hear yourself think. Gong knows his music so you are not stuck with the Asian Top 5 on constant rotation for the time you spend there. he keeps it to a level commensurate to the crowd.

2. it is far more relaxed and low key than the Nana bars.... many punters I have noticed start their nights there with a few bevvies and a few games of pool before heading off to other pastures later. if you tried that at the Nana bars you would end up with a heafty bar bill and a seething, spitting ladboy angry you drank and left without bar-fining.

3. if you smoke (I do) it is a simple matter to take your drink and mosey out the door where you can sit and still chat to the girls who are invariably eating and smoking and texting, and watch the action (walks of shame from the Rajah hotel) in the car-park.

4. This is big for me, but I'm a weirdo on this one. IN the case of a fire you can get the fuck out. I would hate to be stuck down near the bar in Cascade and have a fire. I know I am TOTALLY paranoid about nightcclub fires, but if I can't see an several emergency exits I can't get comfortable.

There you go: 3 reasons without ever mentioning the girls or ST, LT BF's etc.

Lastly: The girls are nice too. No evidence of drugs or axe-murderers eyes. (Or great white shark eyes.)
