I was chatting to a girl called Ree in Obsessions and mentioned the Guess Bar. She immediately told me it€™s in Soi 1. I corrected her that it€™s moved up the road from NP now and I was heading there for my very first visit. She showed an interest because she had heard it€™s very different from other places and run or owned by a ladyboy. So I bar-fined Ree and took her in tow. It was a Monday if I remember correctly ( I arrived from Manila the day before and lose track of time there anyways ) and outside the Guess Bar were about 5 guys standing , chatting and drinking enjoying the cool night air. Inside were a few very attractive ladies but no customers. We were greeted in a friendly manner and chatted to Eats who played a few rounds of pool with Ree showing her a few tips and tricks regarding the game which I thought very charming of her. I must admit I imagined the Guess Bar to be completely different but was in no way disappointed. Very relaxed, no pressure and the music allows conversation without having to shove your ear into somebody€™s mouth to get a notion of what€™s being said.
A couple of days later I paid my second visit alone and was surprised to see only 3 customers sitting at the bar chatting about everything else apart from these wonderful ladies. I then sat at the back of the room and enjoyed the company of a very lovable Mimi and watched the girls playing pool. So in my humble opinion the Guess Bar is a very unique place compared to the dozens of bars I€™ve seen over the years and I just hope it will survive. I€™ve read a lot lately about the greed of the landlords which has led to the closures of many icons such as the Hog€™s breath, just to mention one of many. So I wish the Guess Bar and staff a long and successful reign and personally will visit every time I am in Bangkok. The girls have class and there was even paper in the toilet€¦that€™s has to be a first. Regards to all
