As solely an internet observer, my objective opinion would be that Jay needs a business plan. Small bar, pool tables, music (though I take it the music is too loud and bad), sounds like my kind of neighborhood bar. On a monthly basis, she needs to draw a salary and after employees and expenses, at least break even. Not knowing the location, Jay needs to scale it to what the space, location, and clientele will provide for her as a businesswoman. Smaller group of girls that just don't hang out and play pool but give up the pool tables, flirt, and push the alcohol.

Not knowing the operating costs and traffic, it's hard to give business advice. And not knowing why she had to leave the former space makes it even harder. If she's making 50% more than Soi 1, she's done well.

And to absolutely show that I have no idea what the hell I'm talking about most of the time...what's a punter?

does the new guess bar still have that little mini-library (ok, it was just a table inside the front door, but it worked for me!) where i can drop off a few english paperbacks and pick up something i have yet to read?
i'd hate to have to give mr. grumpy all the books i bring over this time since it ain't even his birthday.

It's bound to work because it is the ONLY BAR in Pattaya where guys can meet up, sit at the bar and actually STAY THERE in comfort and feeling relaxed.

That's what's important to me too!

I want a home base where I can drink with my friends and have no interest in barfining or buying ladydrinks.

But I want this to also be a ladyboy bar cause that's where my friends will be hanging and new friends will be droping in.  131 was like Cheers cause Franck was generally there.

my 2 baht worth,
i personally liked the bar in old place.
was at new place for new year, had to ask a girl if she wanted drink.
was late but most bars gogo's still buzzin.
got the impretion that it has become more of a local bar for the more hardcore lb hunter.
i ended up with short time from temptation babe then back to room for long time with my nam number 7 from cascade, now calling herself naomi but great new fun bags.

never been to the new guess bar, but will be looking in on the 9th feb. i for one don't understand what all the fuss is about.

2 i don't care what the light is like

4 i walk in look around and bar fine who i like.
5i found the girls in guess to be very friendly and a lot of fun, they even went and got me food one evening
5 sometimes i will chat to a bm or other customer, even if the music is tooooo loud.
7 i will sometimes play pool, thaibound woooped my and mints ass in there one night(bastard)
8 $60 for a world class ladyboy for 2 or 3 hours is in my opinion well worth the other minor hassels, so stop fucking wining you bloody premadonna . no wonder jay gets the hump. fucking listening to all the wining old cunts who turn up everynight to moan and groan about the music.

I have some 3 years in retail and 'private' entartainement club experience. Have seen from the extra-bullish people cheered by entering my premises alone to the unimpressed ones leaving them quickly, all in the same day.
Like it or not, what it counts at the end of the day if GB strikes a profit or not, and doing what it makes sense for it to happen.
