You can ask them anything, though my personal experience is that the vast majority are post-op. Prostitution is officially illegal but there are certain zones where it's allowed (eg geylang) though you won't hear about that from the singapore tourist board.
There are reasonably regular raids on orchard towers but they are mainly looking for girls overstaying their visas and won't hassle you at all.

Actually they are on edge because prostitution is illegal in Singapore. The police periodically raid Orchard Towers (among other locales) and haul off a number of the ladies to jail. Repeat offenders can be sentenced 8 months jail time.

Yes the Crazy Horse can be alot of fun, alot of eye candy from all over southeast asia. However can be pricey girls (pre-op & post-op) ask between 200 - 300 sing dollar.

I've never been to this bar but from reading threads in sounds like the best place to go in Singapore. Anyone been there recently who could confirm this? I'm off to Singapore for a brief work trip, so I won't have too much time to explore and find out for myself.

apparently it is called The Strand Hotel in Bencoolen Street (90 SD per night).

Some of them also stay at the bencoolin Hotel itself, and there is a third famous one whose name i forget

BUT, good news if you live in BKK, there were police raids at all 3 hotels last week, and girls WITH valid visas were taken to police station, pictures taken, and shipped back to Thailand next day. (This was from a Thai gg friend of mine....I assume it included lbs as well as ggs)

Stay at the Orchard Hotel - right beside Orchard Towers...Don't confuse this hotel with The Orchard Parade Hotel across the street...Orchard Parade Hotel is crap.  Get a Deluxe room for about 100USD/night - pick up girl/lb at Orchard Towers and two minutes later you can be in your room.  You'll want to walk them in through the back entrance to the hotel (through the Shopping Center) if you are to avoid the stares of pinchy female hotel guests and their envious husbands he he he.  I've stayed there many times - and wouldnt think about staying anywhere else.  Good Luck.

Heading to Thailand via Singapore in October and plan to stay in Singapore for a couple of nights.
     Any information on Hotels close to Orchard rd and any ladyboy Cabarets in Singapore would be greatly appreciated.
    Plan to check out Orchard Towers to check out the talent , might only look look but .
      Looks like there is a fair ladyboy scene in Singapore and thought it might be worth a look on the way to Phuket .

Hi Stewart, thanks for the above info and the emails you sent me a few weeks back.
The overview above and the emails were spot on.
I ended up at OT and Crazy Horse, would have to say a so so experience, was caught by the eye of one "lady" she claimed she was GG but was post op, seemed to me there were a lot of post op ladies around. The time I was there the fleet was in on way home, so the place was packed. I am sure the ladies turned over 2 or 3 or customers a night, any wonder the place was full of oversaeas ladies, rich pickings indeed.

Anyway, for all those visitinmg, pay attention to the trip report and be prepared, hefty prices, lots of ladies, some real knock outs.
