Any news from Kota Kinabalu

I am just now starting planning my traditional Christmas/New years journey
which I want to start in Kota Kinabalu and that is for two reasons.
I want to buy a few of these wonderful woodcarvings which the Dajaks and other natives do and second I want to climb the Mt.Kinabalu.
From KK I will travel on to Philippines. I remember I was once told that there are "tons of ladyboys" in KK, is that correct ? When I was in Sarawak two years ago I found quite a few in Kuching with whom I had a lot of fun with and now I would like to repeat this in KK.
Does anyone have recent experience or information ?

I went through KK last year, but was only near the airport for the night, so I cannot comment on the LBs.

There is a nonstop flight from KK to Manila on Cebu Pacific, which makes getting to PI very convenient and cheap.

As you can see from my report especially Cebu and Manila I had some fun there, less on Boracay and Angeles.
On my next trip I will try Mindanao and ev. again Cebu.

Hmmm, my guess is that tagged.com may have to be entered into your safe list filter on your email provider, it may be seeing that as a spam type domain right now.
