In answer to above questions, rates for the chinese girls are cheaper than the filipinas - 800 to 1000 - for a couple of hours or more again dependent on your chinese level. I have had time with Sania, Emily and Salina.

Hi from Shanghai

I've been living in Shanghai for nearly 2 years now and can say that the ladyboy scene is still in the evolving stage.  I would point out however that i think there are a few more around now than when i first arrived, must be the stronger RMB.

A few points on the Shanghai scene:
* There is only really 2 bars where I have found said creatures, being Judy's and Manhatten on Tongren Lu.  Both bars do not really get going till about midnight, with most of the ladyboys arriving from that time on.
* Most of the ladyboys in the two bars are filipinas, but you do see the odd brazilian and chinese ladyboy.  I even met one from the middle east recently.  The filipinas generally get a 1 month visa, go home for 1 month and then come back again.
* As mentioned in the post above, prices at these bars are around RMB1,000 for a ST, which is pretty expensive given the global financial crisis.  If you are prepared to wait, the prices drop later in the night.  
* There are a few chinese ladyboys around (its a pretty underground scene), but few speak english and my mandarin is average, so I have not been able to meet that many.  There are a few chinese web sites which do list quiet a lot of local ladyboys, but again its all in mandarin.
* The chinese ladyboys that i have met are, on the most part, very business orientated.  They also all seem to have a few annoying habits that take a bit of getting used to like spitting every 5 minutes.
* I have met a few of the girls in the above posts such as Aya (Pretty), Natalia (great body, expensive), Emily (Chinese a dom type) and Ella (Chinese, tall).  My preference is generally to meet up with one of the filly girls at the Tongren Lu bars.  The filly girls generally advertise on Vicesisters.com, buts its better to meet them at the bar as a cheaper option.  Once you get to know them they are fun and more a GFE.

Hello, am I the only member from Shanghai?

I have just looked at my calendar and realized that I will not be able to go on my annual pilgrimage to the land of smiles, not happy Jan.  A long hot sticky summer in Shanghai when I should be sitting at the guess bar admiring the talent.

While there are ladyboys in shanghai, its just not the same.  Half the fun of Thailand is that you have dedicated ladyboy bars.  You can chat to the other members, watch some pole dancing, and generally just check out the talent without having to worry about whether you will run into someone you know or are sitting next to someone who does not like ladyboys (I know its strange but they do exist).

Shanghai unfortunately just does not have a dedicated ladyboy bar (the closest Shanghai has is Manhattan but its just not the same).  

I know a few of the working girls and i am sure that if I can arrange for a few like minded guys (who are willing to pay a few RMB) to get together we could find a small venue / house and have the girls provide a bit of hospitality, Thailand style.
