Nepal?

I'm heading to Nepal soon - first time there....just wondering if anyone has been recently. Any insight to the scene there - either GG's or LB's. Also, other things to do? Trekking??...I do want to at least try and get a look at the Himalayas.

The good thing about the trip....i will travel via BKK..so of course I will tell my boss I will need a few days before and a few days after for R&R in Bangkok!!

I am pretty up to date on Katmandu but you will not find much vis a vis ladyboy action. There are gg's around Thamel; usually Tibetian teenagers who are sort of gang type girls who do this job. Otherwise there are many things to do, especially walking around and eating in the city. Since the Maoist influence there has been a bit more danger. The city is more polluted and more full of Indians than ever before. If you want specifics, I have a writer friend living there now but she is a sort of feminist and not at all sympathetic to roamers like us.

Thanks for the info...yeah I had heard the Thamel area is the place to go....i gather its mostly massage places and a few dance/hostess bar type clubs...I've been trying to make some online contacts...
