The Philippines is a country of over 100 languages. Spanish is one of them. You can still find Filipinos speaking Chavacano in central and southern Mindanao. Chavacano is a close relative to the Spanish language (just like Cajun is to the French language). My wife's father speaks fluent Chavacano as well as Bisayan. Tagalog is the official language but is a second language to many in her province.
It's believed that over one million Filipinos speak Chavacano.
