Hong Kong Immigration

I'm taking my girl to Hong Kong for a short break next month. She seems to think that Hong Kong Immigration are not very LB friendly and that she might be refused entry.

In the past we have travelled together to several countries in both Asia and Europe without any problems.

Has anyone any good or bad experience of Hong Kong Immigration or is it a case of the hormones making her paranoid?

in my expereince and based on what ive heard

hongkong immigration is already aware of asian LB's who is comming in and out in hongkong as tourist at the same time so many LB's got arrested working as escort prositute in the bar and in the street mostly from thailand and philippines they get deported after 40 days pf prison and also cut thier hair and i dont know how open minded hongkong is that they will get curious why male in thier passport but they look like a woman so they usually check your passport and i know most ts have male passport that when its put male on the gender of her passport and you look like a girl and dress like a girl they will ask you series of question like

how long will you be staying here? (check your itenirary and ticket)

what are you gonna do here? you will say your purpose of visit in hongkong and they will ask you some credit card show money at least 1000USD i dont know how much but they will ask for show money and they ask what you do in the in your home country that if you answer any kind of profession they will ask you some papers and diploma or business permit if you state that your a business woman comming there to shop for clothes which you gonna sell in the philippines if your purpose is to visit a friend they will ask you to call the friend who is inviting you
usually they will stamp 14 days as maximum visiting permit to those who pass on the interrogation and to those who has less requirements that they can provide once the immigrations ask they will put you next to the plane back to your country or they will give you 3 days only with a ballpen remarks saying SLC supicious looking character cause they are trying to avoid so many visitors who work witouth the visa or the working permit and work illegally and overstay

ive heard one of my friend said when she visit her boyfriend in hongkong that she was questioned for one hour in the office alone with all the immigration officer in the airport asking why she is a girl while her passport is stated that she is a male cause she was dressing so provocatively like high heels mini skirt and exposing cleavage that she had to call her boyfriend and talk to them that they are meeting up in the airport

so with her expereince i learned that when i went there before i land in the airport i remove my earings and already dress in jeans and sneakers tie my hair no make up even thought im still femenine im dressing so conservatively and i was a little bit scared when i face them they just check my passport no questions ask so there i go in hongkong 14 days and i did that 2 times already immigartion wasnt a head ache

but they say it depends if you meet someone who really wants to grill you

in your case since she is comming with you i think there will be no problem and they wont question too much only to a ladyboys who comes alone and she cant prove her purpose of visit and multiple stamps in hongkong in and out all the time

I took a friend and had no problems. The HK immigration guys were very curious, and kept calling over their friends to take a look. And when they finally stamped her passport, they all stared at her ass as she walked away.

I would say that if she is travelling with you and is dressed well then it is unlikely there will be a problem

I have brought many into Hong Kong. I only had a problem one time, when they grabbed my friend straight off the airplane. As soon as I said, "she's with me", they just let her go.

As long as she doesn't have any problems from previous visits (ie, overstay), they will not hassle a girl travelling with her boyfriend.

I have had a problem with overstayers. They think if they change their passport with a new name, next time they will be OK, but Thai passport numbers don't change with a new passport usually, so if they check the number in the computer, they will discover a previous overstay and probably refuse entry. Let me tell you, its a real pain in the ass if you are with a girl who is nabbed for this. Unless you just want to dump her there, you will be waiting 5 or 6 hours, only to have to deal with how to get her back to Thailand.

Not sure what country you are from Snejana, but Thais almost always get 30 days visa into HK, unless they are only given 2 for some reason.

Also, I must say that Wanchai is full to the brim with SLC's, so somebody is not doing their job very well !!!!!

I had two friends coming to HK more than once and never had any problem.
One is a tour guide (post-op) and came over few times, both with a group of people to tour around and by herself.
The other is a pre-op.
Again, they didn't complain much about the immigraton officers who generally are quite some assholes with everybody..typical Hongkies

If your ladyboy friend and you are travelling together - no problems. Even if they want to question you in the side room, as long as you state that you are entering together, should be no worrries. (I have been in the "sideroom" plenty of times - no strip search yet!). I always find that female immigration officers are more circumspect of ladyboys - try to get a male officer. Also, make sure you and friend can produce tickets out of Hong Kong.

i went to HK with my thai LB gf in 2004, no problems with immigration. only problem in HK was keeping her away from the shops !

We got a good deal on the tickets from BKK by going direct to the offices of Dragon air in Silom, next to Silom Central (opersite side of the road from Patpong)

i went there in november of 2006. i am a ts with a philippine passport which has some stamps from a few visits abroad.i didn't think i would have a problem with HK immigration but i did. my ts friends go there a lot and never mentioned about anything. as soon as they started questioning me about where am i gonna stay and how long i will stay there... i knew they were suspecting i would be overstaying. but as soon as they saw the guy i was with waiting for me. the guy just gave me a stamp... it was weird that i have to be questioned all when they see that i am a seasoned traveller who hasn't done any overstaying and sad because this is obviously a case of discrimination.
