Christmas in Amsterdam

Hi, I am an Yankee and have never been in Europe. This christmas, I figure that I want to go to Amsterdam for 3 reasons:
1. Pure tourism - it's a place I have never been. It's also reported one of the coolest place with a lot of bars and for a southerner, seeing some real winter would be nice.
2. Hash bar - hopefully this does not shock people. I am assuming this can be a one time clean fun without getting addicted - of course you are welcome to tell me I am wishful thinking. I believe you ought try everything once as long as staying on the safe side for the long run.
3. TS scene - now this may sounds odd since I have been BKK. But I assume Amsterdam has a bit going on as well and maybe, being in Europe, offer some varieties...

any suggestions....?

I am in Amsterdam now and just hit the red light district. For the most part TS are only found on blooedstraat from 11AM-5PM ish. I have not had luck in finding them in the evening.

There are some OK girls and then some real ugly ones. There are times I walk the street and quickly turn straight and go for a regular girl.

In my humble opinion Amsterdam is great for sightseeing, straight girls and S&M. If you want a really TS, save your bucks and head to Thailand.

However, you do not even have to exert yourself that much.

You will find TS's at all times of day and night mostly along or near Oudezijds Achterburgwal. Especially on Barndesteeg and Bloedstraat.
Visit Butterfly Cafe (Formerly called Saow Thai Cafe) at160 Oudezijds Achterburgal. (Near the Radisson Hotel) This cafe is run by a Post-op for pre & post op's - You will find a fair number of Filipina & Thai LB's around 1700 hours and 2200 hours and most afternoons on Saturday.

There's a decent Thai Cafe on the Lange Niezel Straat thats the street that runs between the Warmoestraat and the Oudezydes Voorburgwal effectively the start of the red light district

For Thai restaurants/bars:
The "Rakang" at Elandsgracht 29. Very nice, bit stylish and excellent food. A bit more easy going is the "Bird" at the Zeedijk 72-74, very close to the red light district and even better food!!!
Pls don't forget to check out the Thai LB hangout in Amsterdam, the "Butterfly", at Oudezijds Achterburgwal 160, round the corner of the SAS Radisson hotel.
For Indian restaurants, try the one off Leidseplein in the same little street as the Suzie Wong bar. It's just a bit further down the road.

And for the girls it's Angel, Irena, Rita (all Indo's at Barndesteeg) and Paola (from Panama, corner OAW/ Koestraat) - in this order!

Look at the palace in Dam Sqaure and walk towards it and go to the left and head straight up, pass the supermarket and over the canal and you'll find a part of Amsterdam that no tourists go to and there is everything up that way from cheap and cheerful to classy and expensive. And for somewhere to stay I use the apartments here ( not the hotel )

 That's the Jordaan. Actually where the Rakang is located. Very nice area, lot of bars, restaurants and pubs - unfortunately a lot of tourists go there and it's not cheap though....
