..I will have a 2 hr layover in HK before continuing to the P.I., is there a duty free shop within the terminal where u can buy mobile phones or small electronics?
..now that this territory is controlled by the Chinese what's the probablity that you will end up buying counterfeit gear if they do have duty free stores there??

Was through the HK airport in August. There are several duty free shops that sell electronics including mobile phones. The territory is an SAR, so not fully controlled by mainland China yet. They wish to maintain the business of pre-turnover days, so the two systems concept keeps things on the up and up. It did not appear that there was any counterfeit goods in the duty free shops.
