2 good choices for Bali hotels depending on your budget.

If on a tight budget try the Galaxy, 800,000 rp a week.
Not for everyone though.

If you want to live it up, the Courtyard, 465,000 a night is a great choice.

Both places waria friendly.

I'm doing both, I'm at the Galaxy now economizing, but shifting at the end of the week for a little luxury.

PD - Where on Bali are these hotels located? I guess Kuta but am not sure. 800,000 R for a week !!!!! my god I gave my first hooker in Jakarta a 1,000,000 (sorry guys newbie mistake) for one night - now wonder she always came out of the woodwork whenever I was in town !!!

Both places while not technically in Kuta are in the Kuta area .

The Galaxy  sure is cheap but the rooms, especially the bathrooms (not pictured) are not as nice as you would think from looking at the website.  The only safe is at reception and there is no night time access to the safe.

It's right next to Santa Fe where you can find ladies and Q-Bar where you can find warias and femboys.  

But it's not for everyone.  You can hear the bands playing in adjacent places late into the night and lots of nosie from mopeds on the street.

But for guys who like low budget right in the heart of the action here's your place. The owner is a friendly Aussie bloke with an Indonesian wife.  Downstairs is Balineese massage for 40,000 (150 baht) an hour. Outside your door is balcony where you can hang out, drink Bintang, and have a good view of the street action.

The Courtyard is actually nicer  than their website.  I was very happy when I stayed their last year.  The room, pool, and staff are great.  I don't think anyone staying there would be disapointed.  They understate their case when they say 3 star; lots of 3 stars are shitholes.  This is a very fine boutique hotel.

The other day I arranged to stay there for 50 a night which is lower than the rack rates on their website.

Two good values at two different price points.  You get what u pay for.  I didn't find them, Indo turned me on to both.

Hey Mardi, This is only my second trip to Bali.  I'm walking down the street and a waria/ladyboy calls out, "PigDogg".  I didn't recognize her and have never slept with her but she remembered I had spent allot of time with her friend Sashy last trip.

Told me Raquel, who I know as Mozza, is now with her boyfriend in Switzerland.

It's amazing,  I can walk down the street at home and be totally anonymous but ladyboys that I can't remember all over Southeast Asia seem to know me.   Must be a hansum man!

I'm in the Courtyard now after a week of economizing at the Galaxy. The Courtyard has got to be one of my favorite hotels in the world. A great place in every respect.

Hope its nice and quiet now that youv'e moved from the party place.
I only reccomended the galaxy so you would be close to the action,,,at those prices,,you could have a room there fulltime,,come and go as you choose.
Whats $15 a day...great value..

The Courtyard is a great hotel,,,great food, friendly ppl...
If your on holidays you need a place like that to rewind,,
Had any Lb's in the pool with you ?

Hey BK, Looking at your pic at Singapore airport on my way back to farangland is making me want to turn around and go back to Bali.

The Galaxy was just what I needed since I went over budget in Thailand. Galaxy is a good place if you're staying by yourself, and when I first got to Bali I just wanted to chill by myself so it fit the bill perfectly! . But I figured I'd then spend a few days with Sashy so I figured the Courtyard would be better for the two of us.
