According to recent news reports, there are between 4,000 and 10,000 TSs in Korea. I've spent a lot of time in Korea but say that I really only know about 50 TS. Where do the rest of the hide out?

I'm posting this from the Cathay Lounge at Incheon Airport in Seoul - bit surprised that the porn filter hasn't blocked ATS but who's complaining!

On the number of Korean LBs/TSs, I was with a Korean TS on Sunday night and she claimed there are 200,000 TS girls in the country...who knows where she got that number from.

There are definitely more than 50 TSs working in Itaewon alone as each of the 4 full-on TS/LB lounges are staffed with between 9 to 20 odd girls, plus there's the half-dozen or so posties who work on Hooker Hill. (Plus there's the drag queens in Trance, a gay bar, but I guess they don't count.) I understand that Yobo Yobo (the top-tier and unsurprisingly also the most expensive TS lounge in Itaewon) has been around for the better part of a decade, and with turnover of staff, including posties who drop out of the bar scene after being cut, presumably the total number of TSs who've worked in Itaewon is in the hundreds.

I was at Gimme 5 on Sunday night, following a tip from Ziggy Stardust in another thread. Admittedly Sunday is probably the worst night to head to any bar, but this place was dead. Ziggy must have got lucky as I headed down there at midnight, per his suggestion, and the place was dead with no LBs in sight. I had a couple of beers and got creeped out by being the only person there - and a foreigner no less - so I took off. According to the schedule out the front of Gimme 5, there's a Thai LB (or "transgender" as they call it) show at 7.30pm, then mixed martial arts fighting for a couple of hours, then the LBs come back out between 10pm and 11pm for "photo opportunities" (not the ATS type, presumably). I'm guessing that 10pm is happy hour for the LB hunters, but apart from residents like Smuttley who could actually develop some kind of relationship with some of the girls, I wouldn't recommend Gimme 5 for short-term visitors.

I ended up at Akasaka, which is probably the worst of the 4 clubs in Itaewon - I was actually thinking of trying Trans Rose as they had a decent looking (3 out of 5 stars) Korean LB out the front, but got pulled in Akasaka by the girl they'd put out the front to shill for them. Pretty much the only good thing I could say about Akasaka is that it's relatively cheap by Itaewon standards - US$5 a beer (spirits are more) and US$10 for lady drinks. The mama-san is an older CD named Dong Hwa - she speaks OK English and she'll look after you, but unfortunately the girls she has on offer aren't that great - no stunners and the best of the bunch wouldn't compare to the girls you see freelancing outside Nana. I ended up taking a girl home who had nice hormone tits and a functioning cock - she was pretty good in the sack but her English was poor and communications were difficult. Having said that, she was the one who told me about the 200,000 LBs in Korea so I guess we communicated on some level. (She also told me that I should stop visiting BKK and only go with Korean LBs because Thai LBs all have AIDS - charming.)

If you can afford it, go to Yobo Yobo as the quality is much better - but you'll end up shelling out something in the region of US$600 for drinks, the girl and the cabs to and from your hotel. Akasaka is only half that, but the quality is a lot lower. It's like the difference between flying first class and economy, I guess.

One final warning about Akasaka - once you've agreed a price with mama-san Dong Hwa for the girls you've selected, she'll ask you where your hotel is. If your hotel is outside Itaewon, she'll say something like "that's too far, your girl will take you back to her apartment (or home) which is nearby". Don't fall for it - on my first trip to Itaewon many moons ago, I fell for that one and went with one of the posties from Madrid...her apartment turned to be a grungy short-time hotel across the road, where I was convinced that I was going to be mugged the whole time. Insist on taking the girl back to your place - Dong Hwa will cave in.

Great report TZ..........But..........as noted by the report with the amount of $ you would spend on a Korean TS from Yobo Yobo I could fly round trip to LOS and have enough left over for hotel and a couple of overnights

I have piddled around with some TS's here in Korea..........and believe me the posties at Madrid are freaking HOTTTT!!!!!! but I rarely go to Itaewon and when I do its either for entertainment or food purposes and most of the time I'm either with kimchee sweetheart or straight people so Akaska, Boccachico, Trans Rose and Homo Hill are pretty much off limits unless I want to reveal my perversions to others.........

Also there are quite a few Ladyboys that hang out around the Hyatt Regency and the Hilton street walking and the ones I talked to quoted me 100,000 won for a shortie.......roughly $100.00

Any time any of you are here in country and would like to get together pm me and we'll get together..........I have an adequete hooptie and know some places to go and we could have a good time........but seriously when it comes to playing with the ladyboys I'm a 4 hour.......$350.00 flight from BKK and less then that to the Philipines so playing in my own backyard will only come when the urges overcome my patience........

Have never spent anytime in South Korea, however based on the information I've collected via a number of sites & forums, I can pass on the following information;

In Seoul, there are supposedly a few bars in the Itaewon area that are worth checking out including; Trans Rose, Madrid, Baccachio & Yobo Yobo. I've heard postive feedback about Baccachio & Yobo Yobo, although as you no doubt appreciate, the scene is very expensive compared with other countries, particularly Thailand !

Seems they often have a mixture of pre & post ops in most bars.

Trans Rose is not that great, but there are a couple girls there that are good looking. Yobo Yobo, is pretty cool, never checked out the other placese. It is expensive, and if your military, you got to worry about the MPs' everywhere.  At least, that's how it was when I was there.  I think I would have been able to explore it more and have more fun if not for the military cops.  I'd like to go back.

There are also a few places around Hongik University and around other areas.

You really have to look to find it in Seoul. In Itaewon, there is Trans Rose and Yobo Yobo. They are okay places to visit. Near Hongik University, there is a small bar that has some lb from time to time. And around the Kangam area there are some spots too. There is black tv I know in taegu also. But she's a non-worker.
