thinking about going to discover the Amazon basin, in the vast area's mentioned above....... not for shemales or sex of any kind, just an adventure I have always wanted to do and this summer may finally be the time.

anyone with info or stories regarding these 2 places, please do share.

    Thanks!

I have been living in Ecuador many years ago. Peru' share similarities with Ecuador although they have been several times involved in armed disputes about the borders they share.
It is (Ecuador) one of the poorest country in S.America, perhaps Bolivia it's just worst. People are nice. Food is nice. Women are nice and a quite a bit to see.

While I've not been to places like Machu Picchu in Peru', that I heard nowdays tend to be a bit overcrowded with tourists, I've instead visited Ecuador almost everywhere.

The place that struck me most were the Galapagos Island. If you like to see something TRULY different, you have to go there.

Andes in itself are interesting as lanscapes, lights and skies. You will find yourself literally walking through the clouds at as little as 2500 mts above sea level. You can visit active volcanos and you can reach the beginning of the Amazonian jungle without having to te enter Brazil.

About Peru', don't we have a BM called Pinga there?

I am really intrigued by Ecuador......Bolivia also ..... my days of sex tourism long over, I am travelling these days to quench long-desired thirsts to see cool cultures and the rain forest, etc..... the Amazon is next on the list, perhaps in late summer.

UK also! haven't been to England yet.

not that it's a strange culture or has a rain forest or anything [although it does rain quite a bit!], but I will go there for business in June and hang for 8 or 9 days and make it up to Scotland as well .....already been to Ireland and Ulster.

         Stew, will ye be around??

          You are welcome!

South America is an interesting place. Full of contrasts of course but I feel like you can share a cultural experience a bit more than what you can do in here, the Far East.

Bolivia I heard it's quite interesting too. Been reported by a friend who just went there for business..and no, it wasn't coca dealing

The rainforest it's VERY challenging to visit. What we normally see in NatGeo it's on TV only. And that doesn't include the heat, humidity, mosquitos, spiders big as saucer and other living creatures that can be very harmful. Go with some organized and experienced guides. People lose their lives every year in those ventures when not well prepared.

I've been to Asia enough, need new places to visit....also saw Europe for a month last summer, nice but too clinical and clean, you know....

The things you mentioned entice me even more!!

I *enjoy* going to places which have " heat, humidity, mosquitos, spiders big as saucer and other living creatures that can be very harmful"

certainly not on a tour bus either, I wanna see this shit for real and would love to see a jaguar if possible.

people thought I was crazy when I was touring in south Vietnam for a month in 1998, alone and with nothing but a map and a motorbike and my backpack ....... wait till I do it in Ecuador!!

heh, thanks again Looker, I am researching these places daily on-line and determined to see the Amazon soon.

not sure if *I* am that adventerous either

decided I am doing this for sure, just need to finalize which countries and city to fly into .... Lima seems cheapest, only 755 and 10 hours from Boston!

                    not bad.....

If you want something really different JD................

Cool farang lady friend of mine went on a week long halucanogenic retreat in the Amazona under the guidance of shamanic medicine men.

But it's not a party hearty scene; it's more about a cleansing spiritual journey. And not that much fun either, the particpants are given there own personal bucket because the medicine does a number on ya. She was trippin for days though. You might encounter the fourth sex, an Amazonian TS with the head of a jaguar.

She says it was easily the most intense experience of her life. Not your typical soccer mom.

                              Jaidee,
I've lived in England for a few years and managed to make my way around the UK. At the time I also ventured off to brazil for a break. South America rocks!
Vibrant culture and probably a LB scene to boot. The only drawback of brazil was that I was one ugly bastard over there compared to the norms of an english society.

                              Good luck on the adventures.
