And I DON'T agree with Salma....you SHOULD compensate her for being your tour guide. That is her time that you are taking up, and it is of huge value to you. It is only fair. What is your alternative?.....wander round Ayala and SM Mall and hope to get lucky? Compensate her

I stayed at the Park Lane Hotel, only open 6 months. Very nice and good value for price point, 5 mins walk to Ayala

well generally from what i have heard snejana does not advertise taking fees for her services..but i suppose that reality has changed now as she has also travelled to HK and peddle her wares so any movement on her part should warrant a certain form of compensation then..

Good for you! I am curious as to the understanding you reached.

Cebu also has a load of well hidden but immense brothels (normally take out and extremely intimidating). If you are staying on Mactan you can expect problems at most of the major hotels whether your friend is a lady or not. As already stated it can be difficult getting around from there but there are a few good hotels.

But I agree with Stewart, Phuket and Thaland in general is much better, easier and less hassle. You can also skip from there to Samui which is also pretty good if you know where to look.

I love the Philippines and Philippinas and the LB's are amazing not just because of their master of English but Thailand is still generally more fun, much easier for the average tourist, with so many more options available.
