Cebu or Phuket

I would really appreciate any advice- thinking of going to Cebu in August for couple of weeks but afraid I will arrive there and find very poor ( no ?) ladyboy scene...loved phuket but am i dreaming if i expect something similar in Cebu ?

If anyone could suggest a place to stay ( Mactan Island ?) or some hotels / contacts I would really be very grateful......otherwise its got to be good old dependable Phuket....

You MUST get Sneja/Minerva (or someone) to be your tour guide, help you meet lb's, etc. Pay her for this help - it is worth it.

CEBU/MACTAN GEOGRAPHY

Cebu is a long thin island north to south, one hour flight south of Manila.
Bolted on the right hand side half way up is the island of Mactan, joined to
Mandaue City and Cebu City by a couple of bridges. The airport is on Mactan.
20 mins east by taxi to the resorts from the airport, 20 mins west to the
city.

Cebu is a port city of about 1m people. Just like any other port city I have
been to. Industrial, traffic, etc.....not a tourist place as such. Mactan
Island is where the vast majority of the tourist places are. And there are
many other beautiful beaches and tourist places elsewhere on Cebu Island.

CLIMATE

Rainy season is July-September I think, so watch out for that. In May, it
was just like Thailand...hot and sunny with occasional heavy rain.


RESORTS/HOTELS

All the beach resorts are on the East coast of Mactan, and there are no
towns...you are in a beach resort, isolated from the rest of the world. If
you are there JUST for the diving and the beach, fantastic....if you want to
combine that with meeting some girls, not quite as efficient as Thailand.

Also, I was VERY disappointed in the quality of some of the hotels. I
changed hotels 3 times before I found somewhere I liked, and even that one
had its drawbacks.

Tambuli East/Tambuli West/Cebu Beach Club are all beside each other, owned
by the same people. Totally overpriced. They were charging US$90 per night,
and in my opinion it was a US$40 room....max. Same quality of rooms as the
Dynasty in Bangkok....but with a slightly nicer beach!

I ended up in the Pacific Cebu Resort. Very nice semi-detached bungalows at
about US$65 a night. BUT, they catered mostly for Japanese tourists, so the
food menu was distinctly non-Western, they only changed Yen and US$, and had
no Internet/e-mail facility. (Most places do not have internet access)

The really nice places are Maribago Blue Water, Plantation Bay, and
Shangri-La, but these are US$120 and upwards. Amore and Salma might be able
to book it and get local pricing, which is slightly cheaper.

I think the best place to be might be EGI (where Jon stayed, although he
said the rooms were average) or Maribago Blue Water (if you can get a better
price). At least these places are on a main road where taxis pass by
frequently, at the junction with the main road to the airport and Cebu City.
Most of the other resorts are 2 miles off the main road, down a tiny road to
the resort, making it awkward for taxis and stuff.

RESORT WEEKENDS

What a bummer! Because a big city is 30 mins away, many companies in Cebu
City organise awaydays for their employees at the weekend.....to the very
beach resorts that are very tranquil during the week.

So, imagine my horror when I stumbled out of my bungalow to the pool
Saturday lunchtime, to find 300 Cebuans partying and swimming in MY pool
that had been completely empty for the rest of the week.

It was even worse on the Sunday morning, when I stumbled out of bed to be
confronted by an awayday of 50 catholic nuns from a local convent!! On the
other hand, I could not help wondering if there were any lb nuns amongst
them.....and mother superior was kina cute!! (If only they had brought the
girls from the convent as well!!)


LADYBOY "INFRASTRUCURE"

If you are primarily going to meet ladyboys, then this is going to be the
biggest difference between Thailand and Pi.

In BKK, you have Nana, Cowboy, Patpong...all concentrated gg/lb/hotel
facilities. In Phuket you have Soi Bangla, in Pattaya you have Walking
Street, Samui you have Christy's/Soi Mango, etc. All of these have dozens of
bars and hotels all within 10 mins walk, and a focused lb bar facility.

In Cebu, there is no similar focused bar area for the girls. They do not
work in bars, they are all freelancers. In fact, many of them really are
university students making a little money on the side.

You absolutely need Salma, Amore, whoever, to find the girls for you,
because, unlike Thailand, it would be VERY difficult for you to do it on
your own.

The only focuses that I found were Ayala Mall, where some of the girls work,
and the lb pageant I went to (fantastic!!) So, it is far more hit and miss
compared to Thailand eg it is no problem for the girls to get a taxi to any
resort. BUT, what if you have not had a chance to meet the girl first like
you can in a BKK bar, and she does not turn you on when you see her for the
first time? You are committed. You cannot just leave the bar and pop
upstairs to Cascade.


GETTING AROUND

Getting a taxi FROM the resort is a pain in the ass if you are at a resort
off the beaten track. The resorts will charge you 500 pesos (US$10) each way
for their resort taxi, where a meter taxi should cost 150 pesos.

Since the resorts are so far out, all the meter taxis will refuse the meter
price, so you will pay 250-300 each way. You also have to telephone for a
cab, very few just wandering the roads this far out of the city, and the
phone system is not what you are used to in the UK/US.

However, even bumped up prices are very cheap. 300 pesos is US$6 for a 45
min journey from Cebu City to resort at 2am.


TOUR GUIDE

You cannot do this properly without the help of someone on the ground. You
will spend days f**king around. I probably lost 3 days before I was settled.
I will be far more efficient next time. Pay Salma/Amore to organsise hotels,
girls, phone cards, etc, for you in advance....it is worth it.


THE LADYBOY EXPERIENCE

Fan-f**king-tastic, that's all I can say.

They mostly live in Mandaue and Cebu cities. Cebu is about 1m people. They
tend to work the malls. Ayala Mall in Cebu is the favorite. Big, modern mall
like in any city in the world.

I loved the girls. They speak perfect English, and most of them are
educated, smart, funny.....a big improvement from the "what your name, where
you from" brigade in Thailand. I actually felt I could make real friends
down there. Not sure I could say the same in Thailand.

My last night in Cebu was spent having coffee and food with 6 lb's in a cafe
in Ayala Mall, discussing politics, religion, you name it. "Halle Berry",
who won the pageant last year, is studying chemical engineering and we
were discussing technology, innovation and entreprenurship!!!....."what your
name, where you from"....f**k that!!

I slept alone that night, but it was one of the best nights of my
holiday!...go figure


THE GIRLS

Some of the girls were REALLY sensitive about being talked about in a forum,
and many of them refused to have their pics taken with Jon when he was
there. And, even though some of the girls he DID get pics of were lovely,
you should have seen some of the girls he did NOT get pics of....quite
amazing! So, no gory details I'm afraid.

GIRLS FROM THE SITE:

Met up with Amore, Salma, Chantal, Minerva, Ashley...ran out of time to meet
Froen, Antoinette, and a couple of others.

GIRLS FROM THE PAGEANT:

Number 3 and Ashley. I asked Amore to set me up with a date with number 3 in
the pageant. She turned up with a friend, Ashley, who was a complete babe!!
Ashley has several foreign boyfriends who do not know she is a lb, so
refused to have her pics taken for the Internet. No 3 was not too clever
without her make up on!! But I concentrated on Ashley!

Number 12. At the pageant, I was drooling over 3, 7, 9, 12, and a couple of
others. Amore set me up with number 12. Looks like one of the best Brazilian
girls, totally 100% passable....kept having to check that she had a dick to
convince me she was not a gg. Quite amazing. Lovely girl as well.

Number 7 and 9. No time, but Amore has since spoken to them and they will be
on my agenda next visit.

Number 4. Our very own Amore, who got through to the last 10 in the biggest
pageant in the Southern Philippines. So sweet, so demure....and then when
the bedroom door closes.......my dick was in shreds afterwards!!

GIRLS FROM THE MALL:

On my last night, I wanted to see the girls at work, so Amore took me to
Ayala Mall. This is a very modern, open shopping mall, like we have all been
to in any major city. I sat down outside Coffee Bean and had coffee and ice
cream, and half a dozen of Amore's friends joined us and we chatted for 4
hours about every subject you can think of! I was very impressed. Girls
included "Halle Berry", Nadia, Ashley (from the site), Natasha (holy
shit....this girl is like Areeya!), Number 2 from the pageant who is leaving
to get married in Sweden soon.

Watching the girls on the hunt was fun. We have all seen the wildlife
programs from Africa of the lions and cheetahs stalking their prey! This was
the lb version!!!

THE ONE AND ONLY ASIAN-TGIRL FROM THE FORUM

Awesome girl!! Tall, slim, long legs, pretty, but just sexy as hell, and
sensational in the sack. See my posting about toblerone bars!! She brought 2
handbags. I asked innocently "why 2 handbags?", and she replied "that is my
sextoy handbag silly".......ulp!!!


SUMMARY

If you want the "focus" of hotels and Nana/Sukhumvit/Cowboy like in Bangkok,
you will not get this in Cebu. You WILL be a little frustrated.

If you like beach resorts, good diving, and a little hassle getting around,
but some fantastic interaction and conversation with intelligent, funny,
beautiful ladyboys.....go for it.

There are some seriously stunning, fun, intelligent girls down there. I will
be going back.

I have now had 3 Lady boy experiences in Cebu.  Met them all on Mango Ave towards Robinsons.

The first did try to snatch some cash out of my pocket but after that we had an understanding.  In fact I saw here again with her younger brother.   I still would not trust her but they were fun.

Met another couple last night.  One was sensational and would fool just about any guy.  She has been on hormone treatment for a few years and he genitals have shriveled up and she can no longer get an erection.    She said the last time she came was four years ago.    She has amazing hips and ass.

I have a lot of experience with both places. They are very different. Phuket is typical Thailand--many user friendly conveniences like numerous places to stay, eat, bars, ladyboys all concentrated in a small area conducive to walking. Cebu is the second biggest city in the Philippines and is spread out and separate from Mactan Island where the arrival airport is. My first trips to Cebu were "escorted" by ladyboys I met on the internet. Later trips were solo. I would recommend Mango Park Hotel for a moderate price. Go to Ayala Mall and wonder around, you'll get some phone numbers that way--the PI style.
