I will be in Angeles/PI from 25 Feb to 4th March 2006.

Later 2 or 3 nights in Cebu

then Manila or again to Angeles or Subic

finally a few days in Thailand (Bangkok and/or Pattaya)

The dates are not yet sure, only the first week in Angeles is already booked and some of the flights.

I was just in Angles earlier this week and had lots of fun.

If you are looking for a ladyboy, look around 2AM in front of Kokomos, they hang out there ready for action :-)

If you are staying at the Orchid or Wild Orchid, they will not allow a ladyboy to accompany you. So look for a short time hotel (300 peso with CR and AC).

The Orchid Inn is very popular & in the right place, you can walk to all the major bars from there in minutes & is just off Fields Avenue. It has nice size rooms, aircon of course, & a nice pool, even got its own smallish Go-Go bar. I took a couple of LB's back last year with no bother at all, but maybe there policy has changed. I have stayed there loads of times, & its always been good, nice poolside resteraunt & bar as well. Check out there website.

My last visit there earlier this year I stayed at the Blue Nile executive club, that was nice,jaccuzzi rooms, tastefully done, but not as big as Orchid Inn, its also in the right place tho'. Now there GoGo is very good, some nice Chics there. Not too many LB's & like MikeNH said they tip up late at night early morning looking for business around KoKomos. I have always found Philippino LB's very earger & a real good shag, they do like to drill you tho'!!! Check out there website.

Just a place to consider & I have not personally stayed there for about 4 years is the Swagman. Nice place, nice pool, good resteraunt & were really reliable on bookings & transport, they are the same mob as "fly the bus". i used to use them all the time as they have a couple of other nice places too & were good at travel arrangements. Massive drawback to this place, its too far from fields avenue, you either walk for about 25mins or get a trycycle taxi. I would suggest you get one back anyway at night anyway. Angeles is OK, but it can be iffy in places at night.

The current best hotel in Angles City is the Wild Orchid:

This is an upscale resort right in the middle of the action.  Downside is the do not allow Ladyboys into the hotel.  They check ID€™s at the door and if it€™s a LadyBoy, they are not welcome.

My personal favorite is the Royal Amsterdam:

The Amsterdam is also brand new however it lacks a pool.  But they do allow Lady Boys in.

Another choice is the Orchid Inn.  An older resort but still nice:

They have a pool but also have a policy not allowing LadyBoys.  There is a way around it €“ don€™t turn your key into the front desk and get a room in the Jasmine Wing.  When you come back at night, slip the guard 50 pesos and you are in.

Nope, that trick doesn€™t work a the Wild Orchid :-(

Ladyboys work the streets late at night €“ usually after 10PM.  1-3AM seems to be the best time to go hunting.  They hang out at the following corners:

Fields & A. Santos
Real & A. Santos
Vian & A. Santos

WOW and FireStone on A. Santos have Ladyboy staff.

I consider myself a spoiled traveler and am very comfortable at the Wild Orchid and Royal Amsterdam. Both are less than a year old. Check out the websites with room photos.

As one would expect Christmas and New Years are prime visit days €“ make your reservations early.

One down side to AC is getting there. Depending on time of day its 1.5 to 2 hours from Manila. Average cost is 2,000 pesos.

Depending where you are coming from you can now fly directly into the old US Clark Air base & also into Subic, check the websites below, this quite nicely jumpsover the Manila airport hassle & journey to get out of Manila. I have used this service once ( from Macau ) & it worked very well. Keep checking the websites as these asian low cost airlines are adding routes in all the time.

Nice looking hotels you put the websites up for, AC has come a longway since my first visit over 20years ago. While the Americans were there it never really seemed to get any better, there were some right seady dives about. But since they pulled out & the sudden loss of capital input & the closing down of the Mabina / D'Pilar area in Manila it has definitely done AC the world of good. How long it will last I don't know, so enjoy it while you can. Subic is also on the  up, only very slowly tho', some nice hotels sprung up in the last 6 years around the Baloy Beach area, you can actually fly directly onto the beach using the sea plane from the Manila yatch club, the sea plane is actually based at Subic & he won't drop you on the beach, its only about 200-300peso to get round to Baloy, it you can work out the Jeepneys its about 30peso. Price used to be around US$300-350 for the Sea plane service. I have also used that service quite a few times to get from Subic to Puerto Galera. The girl bar situation is nothing compared to Angeles but its a nice 3-4day visit alternative to spending all your time in AC. The Car / Van journey from AC to Subic isn't too bad either.
I don't think the Philippines will ever reach a point where it is threatening the LOS business tho'.

I stayed at the Orchid Resort in AC for 4 nights early in October and can recommend it highly. For sure, stay in the Jasmine Wing. Perhaps a little pricey for some, but in my opinion it is good value. Real friendly and helpful staff, just chat them up a little. Have a great breakfast buffet until 11AM for 400 pesos ( I think). Nightly dinner specials as well. And the location cannot be beat. As far as ladyboys are concerned, all you need to know is the location of Santos Street which is next to Kokomo's. Enjoy!

Orange Lion, a newer hotel. Rooms are nice and hotel has a DVD "lending library". But what really makes it for me is the great staff! They were attentive and, most importantly, treated my guests respectfully, calling them "ma'am"! I "discovered" Angeles last year and just love the place! The gurls are SO enthusiastic and just plain fun company.
