WOw, Shampoo bar used to have some of the hottest GG's in Makati. Amazing change for the Philippines. I have never heard of an organized gogo bar for ladyboys in the PI. The problem is that it is in the P Burgos area and that area is outrageously expensive for the PI and rarely busy. The girls make money from expensive lady drinks(3-400 pisos) and barfines(3,000 pisos for the bar and usually 2-4,000 for the girl depending on the girl and time, etc.) Many of the bars have reduced their barfine so hopefully Shampoo will follow suit.

better hustle over and have a look
Stewart - the club is no longer a go-go, but a drink and companionship hustle with the GROs putting on two or three floor shows nightly
The only GGs I saw were the waitresses and the mamasan, all GROs were LBs
Oil - no idea if the experiment will work, they were still sorting out the basics like drink price, DJ selection of music, dance show numbers, etc on their first night
It will be interesting to see if they can make a go of it once they figure out the house rules and barfine policyDo you remember when flying was dangerous and sex was safe?Comment

I fortuitously hooked up online w/ a gurl who works there. Get this: The BF is PHP3,500 (gurl gets 1,000); ladydrinks in the bar are 350 (gurl gets 100).
Is it just me, or is that not the most ridiculous pricing in the PI u hv ever heard of?!?!?!?? WTF!!!!!!!!!!!
I will still go in there, meet the 'mamasan' & try to find out how they came up w/ such a figure.

The first is part of what is laughingly referred to as the "Cebu 'Glamour' Mafia"! --- a number of Cebuanas who think they r the gods' gifts to we, the lovers of the transgendered!! High prices (spoiled by the dopes in SGP & HK), lousy horizontal performance and ... constant weight problems ...
... fortunately, Cebu is a paradise of wonderful, cute, smart, sexy gurls --- Jan being a great example!

The bars in Burgos St are far, far better quality than anything you will see in Thailand, but the target market is not you or me. The target market is the Koreans and Japanese guys that work in Manila
The bars are always close to empty every time I have been there, but buying yourself a drink ie no lady drink, is quite reasonable.
Better to go to the LA Cafe in Malate, which is wall to wall freelancers....or jump in a taxi to Angeles City, 2 hours northMister ArseComment

Finally got to Shampoo this July (I c another fellow posted a visit report in a separate thread). Unlike other guys' positive takes, I was disappointed (& I went in 3 separate nites 2 c how the it might change or not). I found the quality of the gurls sub-par --- & get this!: the best-looking (& definitely sexiest! --- she was part of the dance show in a skimpy black outfit that showed off a well-toned yet feminine figure) one is the mamasan!
As we do, I bought her a drink and talked about the bar. She said their clientele is mostly Western (& each nite I saw only Westerners & some Arabs). She runs a tight ship, and there was no pressure from gurls to buy drinks ... but there were so few I felt like buying drinks for ...
...
With the strange (?) barfine of PHP3,500 (today, roughly U$70), I just don't see it. Especially as there are soooooooooooooo many great LBs in the PI one can meet thru sites. ... im on shampoo now.... just started a week a go, one of the newest in the bar, i noticed that in my first week, bar fines are very seldom, there were only two incidents of bar fines in my entire whole week, most of us, and my fellows depend on the drinks we can get for the night, plus the allowance that we get every night, tip, and so on.....
the bar is just six month old, so still have more to see.... visit us, the show usually starts at midnight, depends on the number of guests, anyway my bar name is pia....garciaComment

maybe u should talk with manager/ owner of ur bar and explain that most of your asia customers visit this site. and that they usually play in thailand, and are used to thai prices.
if your bar want more business they should bring pricing the same with thailand. the equivalent of 500 or 600 thai baht for bar fine (US $15-18) and about 1000 or 1500 or 2000 for the girl (US $30/45/60) and maybe more for overnight...
the cost of living isnt more expensive in manila, so why should it cost more. you all would get more business at reasonable rates.
just tryin to help. not many will pay the big western market prices you ask.

i understand that dear, i also get some comments coming from the guys visiting the bar.. the thing is... it wud take me a lot of guts to do that and talk to the management, it isn't easy...
but anyway, i guess the fine is expensive like what u said,,, but, on the other hand, a comparison between shampoo and bars in thailand is that, there are many ladyboy bars in thailand and there's only few in philippines, and in burgos area, shampoo is the only lb bar... if we try to understand the supply, demand, competition blah blah, talking about economics, there is no competition when it comes to lb bar in phil... so why set a cheap price... shampoo monopolizes the market for lb bars... unlike in thailand where lb bars have to make some strategies, if that is to lower the bar fine, so be it... just to win the competition...garciaComment
