Can I bring my phone from Texas to LOS and have TUK COM enable it for use in Pattaya? SAMSUNG III

Do you know if it is locked to a provider? If it is not, then there is no need to take it to Tuk Com. Just buy a sim card and plug it in, ready to go. If it is locked, then there are shops in Tuk Com that can "unlock" mobiles for use in LOS.

TM, no that doesn't help. When you got the phone was there any mention if it was "locked" to Sprint? That means you cannot use another company's SIM card in it. You actually can ask Sprint before you leave and they will tell you if it is "locked". If it is not, then all is good - just pop a Thai sim card in it and you will be ready to go.

If it is locked, go to Tukcom and one of the shops will unlock it. The reason why I'm telling you to get it checked is that you could get scammed for paying to get in unlocked, when it might already be so.

Before you head for LOS just borrow a sim card
from someone on a different network in the US.
Pop it into your phone, and you will know whether
            it's locked or not

(TEXASMAC @ Feb. 23 2013,09:52) It is Sprint, does that help?
Are you sure it has a SIM card slot?

I though Sprint was all CDMA/LTE (LTE 1900 & CDMA 800/1900) so no GSM bands... and no SIM card in their models....

This will not help, but by the time you get there or on the way you might like to pick up a new Samsung Galaxy S 4

TM, very good of him! It seems your Samsung cannot work in Thailand then. Continue to have fun!
