Clipping Movies

Hi all-

What software do people use to trim video clips? I want to cut some clips down to 25mb Gmail size.

I like playing with Camtasia, but it increases the size of clips by an order of magnitude!!

Do you want to cut bits off or just make the file size smaller... or both?

I use:

Joboshare DVD ripper platinum (don't be fooled by the name, it converts about everything)

and

AVS video converter (converts a bit more formats than joboshare, but I like jobshare better)

both are available as "free software" (ahem...)

Definitely cut bits off, ie, cut out segments with known faces, and then perhaps reduce size, if necessary.

PC based system.

Thanks for the tips. I'll try those and see what other advice people might have.
