Naang Faa, why don't you just uninstall Firefox and reinstall it again?

What is the problem you are having with Google Mail and Safari? If you are using the regular webmail access there shouldn't be a problem.

can't get a secure connection might mean you are being blocked by your ISP. Are you in Iran, China or some such where they would prevent you from having a connection they can't monitor

There is another thing you can try Naang Faa, that is using "system restore". I can be found in the Accessories, System Tools of the Start, Programs toolbar.

Just go back in time to the point you know that Firefox and everything else is working ok. It will take some time. If that works you keep it at that point. If it doesn't work you can revert to your current setup. You should uninstall Safari and Google Chrome before you do this.
