    I switched from Yahoo to gmail for that reason and I'm a lot happier with gmail.
    I don't get it, is this a magic show?

      Interesting info and gmails seems good, and the YouTube movies are showing how to make full use of it.
      I'm not a computer savvy and always struggling with configurations

          Yahoo has POP3 but it's not free in the US, but is in a number of other countries.

          You can also set Thunderbird to leave mail from various accounts on the server.
