Webcam

I bought a new Acer laptop in BKK and the cam works for making pics at my room or do video but when I try to go online in yahoo IM it just shows a black screen.
The little light goes on showing that its on but nobody including me can see anything just a black screen.

Guys any idea as to how to fix it?
Is it a yahoo cam issue or the cam itself?
It is built into the laptop is all I know and works except in IM cam trys.

Any help or advice or even others having this problem would help out.

If your cam works for other stuff then yahoo, it stands to reason that it is not your webcam that is faulty but yahoo. Try looking in the help pages of yahoo for a solution.

Your cam is working, so I would check your configuration.

Thanks Ez but the entire yahoo web page/s in that area did not seem to work but oddly the cam will shoot stills in my place and do videos.

I agree it must be a yahoo issue or perhaps the cam in IM mode.

Still no clue how to fix it and thanks so far guys

Yep went thru all the links.
This is a built in web cam that came with the acer aspire 4710 laptop from bkk.  Not sure of the brand of web cam tho.
The links have not shed light except it may be a driver
