Resize-O-Matic ~ The final solution!

In this tutorial we will choose only one image file but the same applies to resizing multiple files at once.
(Pressing the 'Ctrl' key while clicking on file name allows selection of multiple files.)

Look at the FIRST picture below.

You can see (in the task bar at the bottom of the first picture)  that the original file is an image with dimensions of 1984 pixels width and 1488 pixels height.

The file size is about 719 KB, which is too large for attaching it to upload it to our forum.  

 Here is how it works!

Find the image you want to resize on your computer...

Resizing - Step #1

Right-Click on the image file and select the "Resize-O-Matic" menu item.

Resizing - Step #2

Select a new image size and click the OK button.
(I recommend 'Medium' for this forum.)

That's IT! You've done it!

A new image file was created.
Note the dimensions of the new image.
It is now 640 pixels width and 480 pixels height.
The new file size is only 56 KB, while still preserving the original image quality as much as possible!

By the way - this is a fantastic tool if you want to create a lot of images for your mobile phone or iPod etc...

Just choose many files at once and select the last option - 'Handheld!'

You can now fit tons of pictures on to your phone and they will load a lot faster, too.

This is the resizing program Bam told us all about 2 years ago...I've been using it ever since...
It's simple and almost fool proof...And you can click on the advanced button and create custom
sizes for avatars etc...A simple easy to use program...

Just when I finally got the hang of resizing using the RESIZR program you told us about months ago Stogie...along comes this is it least faster? the RESIZR took a few minutes for each picture.

I am a total idiot when it comes to computers. Does it matter where the program is saved to ensure that it appears on the picture options menu when right clicking?

No it doesn't. Anywhere on your computer will do.
