  • Travelling LBs

I've noticed in a couple of recent posts that some of you have referred to LBs having a problem travelling in and out of the US. Is this a post 9/11 situation or what? I know I had some serious shit because of an Iranian visa in my passport last year.

There is absolutely no practical reason for this question, just curious as LBs seem to come and go through our paranoid authorities in the UK with no problem.

    Cheers

LBs have always had a tough time exporting their taleents to the US but 9/11 has probably made it even harder for them. You will NOT get a visa for a ladyboy to travel to the US. She will probably also find it just as hard if not harder going through the process on her own.

I don't believe it is as easy as you seem to make out in the UK. Getting the visa is the hardest part and even that is no guarantee of admittance.

We have several members who post ehre who can attest to that.

I don't know about US, but I just took May to Japan last week.

While there were a lot of papers (like a copy of every page of my bank book!, and a letter from her school???), she got the Visa fast enough, and got in easily enough. Ironically, the only hassle came from Thai immigration on exit; unending questions about why she was leaving. Like why did they care?

      We'll try Canada next year.

I understand that they have an obligation to ensure that their traveling citizens will actually travel to the host country legally and return to their own country.

In August when I brought the Cebu girl over, the Philippine authorities would not allow her to board the plane and travel to BKK.   Seems that she had previously traveled to BKK on a 30 day visa and stayed for several months making border runs.  Clearly her previous visit was not for pleasure but to work...although I'm sure she enjoyed herself in other ways...

I had to go to the Philippine Consulate in BKK and sign a personal guarantee and fax it to Manila before they would allow her to leave...

At any rate that's how it was explained to me at the Philippine Consulate...Every country has a responsibility to ensure that their citizens are traveling to the host country for legal purposes...

            Don't say that.

            It's all judgemental.

I still believe, if you walk in with your LB, a shitload of well-prepared documentation, and guarantees, and you have a job and it's respectable and you can prove it, and, ideally she has a job, all is ok.

I have never had a problem travelling with LBs so far, and I've been to Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, so far. Next year I take May to Canada.

on my experiences, i don't have much problem at all..
well of course will need some paperwork to apply for visa.. its happened everywhere..
its normal that we have to make the paperwork, cos many asian are staying longer in the country they visit..
and we need to prove bank account money wise.. also paper from my company that i work in..
the consulate have their own duty to approve the application or not.. mostly if we didnt complete the paperwork..
but i have no problem to visit some southeast asian country, no need visa but japan i think...
and the most important thing is the sponsored must have load of cash on their bank account.. thats true.. so they make sure that the traveller not get financial burn while they visit the country.. and i guess it's fair.. concerning that the life cost is incredibly different from asia.. and must remember to get a medical insurance cos on my experience, got to pay fortune to get into optometrist for my contact lol....
europe is more easier to get the visa then oz.. but didnt know yet about going to states, but i guess canada is easier cos i see that the consulate is on the same with oz office...
                should go there one day...

Since I started this thread a group of Thai LBs have shown up in London. Purely in a spirit of enquiry I paid one a visit and she reckons that a three month tourist visa was no problem for any of them. This seems to agree with the previous post but then again a friend of mine who also has the dreaded "axis of evil" visa in his passport flew in and out of New York without incident recently. Perhaps its all in the luck of the draw.

                  Cheers

If a GG wants to come to the U.S. she must have a bank account with $20,000 U.S. in it a job to come back to as well as letters of responsibility from a U.S. citizen. This is pre 9/11.
There is a Ladyboy teaching Thai dance and language at the local Wat but she was sponsered by the Wat. More on this later.
