In my view there are advantages and disadvantages of going to Thailand in April. I returned from Thailand at the end of April 06. The main issue for me was the overwelming heat every day without any respite. The rainy season normally starts in may you may encounter daily showers, but they don't last longer than a few hours. As for the LB's there is always enough to go around and although many of the girls go back to their home towns for Thai New Year (Songkran) they return looking for work to make up for the hand-outs they had to make over the New Year peiiod to their families.
If you had the choice I would leave it until after Songkran,(mid-April) it really gets boring getting wet 24/7 for 3 or 4 days straight.
Just remember, it's going to be hot as fuck there at that time, so if you're averse to heat or humidity, you might want to stay clear. From my limited personal experience, I found the scene to be quieter than it was around the holidays - although its not a significant drop in punters.
I'm a rough-ridin', hootin' and hollerin', ladyboy lovin' cowboy! Bang bang yer dead!!!
Another strange request. I am trying to convince my company to pay for an investigative trip
Does anyone know if there are knock off Japanese anime / manga (cartoon/comic) based paraphernalia for sale around Bangkok? If so where would be the best places to find them?
It would be great to travel on someone else's dime.
