The reason why I asked about cobra, if it was the 80's or 1st gulf, we might have some things in common.

Nope the 80's and 1st gulf before my time. I served in the 90's and a little in the early 2000's.
I also get there around the 15, I have not booked my hotel yet. But I am thinking about staying at the pattaya bay resort.
How far in advance do you think I should book my room?
Or do you have a reccomedations on a better hotel than the PBR.
I plan on taking a lot of LBs back to the room so I need one that is guest friendly.

The short answer is no, there's not a better deal, if you're staying for 2 weeks or less in low season.

PBR has everything most mongers need at only 1000 baht a night which includes two free breakfasts.  It's unclear if they're running the stay 6, get the 7th free promotion this low season.

For stays of a month or more there's better options.   And perhaps some better options for a return visitor to Pattaya more off the beaten track.

But for a first timer on a short holiday in low season, PBR is my recomendation for those on a typical budget that want good value.

Dear All,

It took me some time but here is my first post.
I first would like to say hi to everyone in the forum.

I am a newby to the scene, and will go at the end of feb. for 4 days to bangkok.
Would you be so kind to let me know which places you would recommend me to visit in Bangkok during my first time?
Do you have any hotel tipps that wont be too far away from the LB clubs?
