hey guys, i'm probably going to get to come to thailand for 5 or 6 days in early june!! i'd better get my plane tix soon. i have a lot of reading to do in the meantime on this board, but basically, i guess after i get my plane tix, i'll need to book a hotel in pattaya!

early june isn't too busy is it? i realize it might be rainy though

Just be careful with the baht, as your Japanese they will come in high with their prices, bid them down, why should you pay more then a westerner !

Actually, I'm a white guy living in Japan, not a japanese guy, but i'll keep what you say in mind when converting my yen.

And Socrates, thanks for the welcoming words....I'll send you a PM later, just on my way out the door now. I don't even know the deal with getting a phone, assuming I can't use my Japanese one, which I'm 99% sure I can't. I'll get one when I'm there I think, and I'll have my computer with me too. I've gotta read the Living in Thailand and Travel Information forum sections to get up to speed in the next 2 weeks.

Buy a phone here, they are $30 for the cheapest Nokia. getting a local number will cost $5 more. Renting a phone would cost a LOT more.

Weatherwise it will rain on and off, but not all the time...and at least its cooler than in April.
