  • Hua Hin

This next visit which will be the end of October till November will be looking for a place to retire. I am thinking arrive in BKK then go to HH for 2 or 3 days then to Pattaya to be a dirty old man. I figure Mr. T from BKK to Hua Hin. I need all opinions. If I play my cards right I figure December 2014 , I am Out of HERE !!!!

      Hey Tex...
As you know I have lived in HH a while.
Why don't you post specific questions here that you need answered, and that will save my writing my usual rambling prose.

      Ask away....

I look forward to your "usual rambling prose". I can always tell when you are particularly angry or somewhat mellow just by your language at the time. It only works with people who write it straight off the top of their head. No editing, no re-writes, just as it comes out.

Unlike me who treats each post as the start of a new book...

        But at least I post...
Despite the high cost of living, it continues to be popular.

Tex you can get a Bus to Hua Hin from the Southern Bus Termina @ Sai Tai (100 baht) or a Mini-Bus from Victory Monument (180 baht), if you have a lot of luggage book 2 seats on the Mini-bus..lol

There is also a Mini-van that will take you from Hua-Hin to Pattaya for 400 baht dropping you off on Pattaya Tai near Sukhumvit road

Hua Hin office to book ticket- Tel 0887092364

Taxi's will cost you approx 2500 baht each way

I was going to go to Hua Hin myself for a few days but have opted to go to Phuket instead.

                    Funny man

If I am in town will catch you then Tex, DD has set you up with the basics. I pay about 1600 B for a taxi from the Airport if you prefer it.
Hotels (nice ones) in the off season are good value at between 800-1500B per night depending on your needs.

Let me know if you want more information about long stay and other bits and pieces.

I must say I enjoy it here as I can ramble as I wish. I know we all have issues where we work or live but here I am able to vent mine without judgement. I will admit, that in my past trips to LOS I was concerned with only 2 things. and maybe now and then. But I have seen people I work with till there 68 or 70 even though they have $$. I ask why?? I am trying to learn " Work to live, NOT Live to Work".

                          Hi Tex,

No offence my friend, but thats kinda the point of a forum. Take the maps and information DD has provided you. Had he sent those to you as a PM then only you would benefit, and next time someone else asks, the process would need to be repeated.

Unless you question is incredibly embarrassing (such as where to buy incontinence pants) get it out in the open! I know I have! (Sorry, a bit of Python there.)

                          Cheers,

                          JF

I know, I have never been offended bu comments. As Pacman said my writing fits my mood. As I did in a post on my second visit I shared ALL of the syupid things I did and surprisingly I did not get robbed or shot. I learn form the forum, and I learn alot from lunch with BigTel at the Pattaya Beer Garden. Nobody here as judged me or humilated me about my posts or dumb mistakes. I will keep on posting, I will keep on rambling, and I promise to always post what I feel at the moment. I also promise I will continue with "usual rambling prose"....

What are the pros and cons of living in Hua Hin as opposed to Pattaya? I am thinking of retiring to Thailand and any information is appreciated.
