Is it just me who thinks Sepp Blatter and his cronies along with the olympic comittee are corrupt and probably taking something under the table?

I can understand England losing to Spain/ Portugal but Russia??

And the US could lose to Korea, Japan as they hosted a very nice world cup or to Oz but Qatar?? Seriously what is going on here?

I cannot think pf two places less likely to pull a crowd. A sand pit full of niggers with money and Qatar. Good thing they can sell TV rights, I don't see anyone queuing up to buy tickets for matches in Qatar. What exactly would you do between games? What are the amazing attractions to keep you amused for a month?
As for Russia: Imagine. Walking Street trying to pass it's self off as Oxford Street (London or Sydney, the game is the same)
I can only hope both make huge losses and it fucks them for a generation.

As for Australia not getting the bid? Fine. Less impetus for future Aussie kids to move away from the natural order of things which is to say freezing their bollocks off getting tackled and teethless on rock-hard, grassless rugby fields during winter.

It's no secret that this is a massively corrupt old boys network... but it's no different than the EU.

Sepp Blatter is an arse, and a 22 man committee to decide where the World Cup is held is a joke.

I have no problem with them winning. I agree that they will probably put on great world cups.

The problem is with the logistics of handling hundreds of thousands of visiting fans and thugs.

The other problem is having bidding countries spend fortunes on bids when they had no chance whatsoever.

But I ask my question again: What will people DO between matches? Seen one mall/sand dune/camel seen them all.

And FYI I don't think the US or Australia could be counted as the same old countries.

AND I wouldn't trust Russian security one bit. Their record for dealing with terrorist attacks generally winds up as a slaughter of both terrorists and innocents.

Moving on..... I don't care where they play it, and I'm sure Vlad and the Prince will put on a good show. What this whole charade has shown, however, is that the so called 'technical' reports of FIFA are a joke. It's just window dressing for the money show.

The Panorama and Sunday Times exposes certainly played a part in England's ridiculously low vote.

I don't think things will change much, but many people will have serious misgivings about playing the FIFA game next time.

On the 2018 World Cup being awarded to the Ruskies.

I smelt a rat when I heard that Vladimir Putin (Russia's powerful PM) was not even going to Zurich to help their final presentation in the same fashion as Prince William, David Cameroon and David Beckham did for England along with similar established politicians and celebs did for Spain/Portugal

Putin's previous 20 odd years KGB experience had already helped him to establish what was going on in the corridors of power at FIFA HQ and it's 22 voting vice presidents. In order to distance himself from any impropriety Putin remained in Moscow with his plane on the runway and it's engines running until Russia had been given the verdict, he then flew to join the celebrations.

Intersting to watch the head of the failed English bid giving his press conference this morning.....Six delegates had shaken his hand and promised their votes were heading for England, it is now known that four of those changed their minds on Thursday morning and voted for Russia

So - FIFA is a corrupt organisation - hardly a scoop (and I know that dates me) a sizeable chunk of our taxes get siphoned off to pad the bank accounts of dubious politicians - what really?

The fact is that the whole world is divided into them and us - them being the ones who make the rules but break them when it suits their purposes - I include most major sporting bodies, all politicians (think of our expense fiddling MPs in the UK) and the bulk of religious leaders.

Why do they do this? because we fucking let them that's why! They know that by the weekend the Great British Public will be more interested in the X factor, the yanks will be back into NFL and the Aussies will be all out at Adelaide.

By Christmas the vast majority of people will not even remember who the winners are of this shambles, If you want proof - on a local radio station in London the question was asked who will host the 2012 Olympics and the listener got it wrong - despite living in the same part of London where they are building the stadium! People have grasshopper minds and that's why we get screwed again and again by the same people.

You may not be able to fool all of the people all of the time but you can certainly have a good go!

I have a feeling the world cups will be played with empty seats just like South Africa. I can't seem to get my head around Qatar?? what the fuck?

I mean people can't sunbathe there without fear of melanoma.
People can't have a drink there without fear of being arrested.
People can't have a sense of security there because they might get blown up. Its a layover city, nothing more. So they'll take people to world cup stadia inbetween waiting for next flight out?

One thing is for sure: MONEY TALKS! The people who spent so much better be willing to give away free tickets when the time comes to fill up the stadiums.

And maybe, just maybe we may have a repeat of 1986 when the world cup was supposed to be hosted by Colombia.
