with 3 months to go,it seems capello still doesn't know who his best players are,not to mention which combinations are best.
yes,there are injuries to consider,but egypt were better than his first rendition,last night.the team bristled with players who cannot command regular selection for their clubs.
so,should he be selecting on form,or reputation?

From right to left what I think the best selection would be.

Green

Brown, Ferdinand, Terry, Baines

Joe Cole, Lampard, Gerrard, Milner

Crouch, Rooney

Thats a good physical side and you will always have the likes of Wright-phillips, Walcott or Lennon to bring on for pace on the wings. If Ashley Cole is fit in time, I'd put him at left back instead of Baines and leave John Terry at home to look after Cheryl.

But in all honestly I fancy North Korea to win it. I hope they knock out the US in doing so. Come on the Commies

England's lack of good keepers is a worry. And if Wes Brown and Baines are in our starting 11 I'd be worried.

I don't think joe Cole will even make the squad, unless he has a dramatic change in form, he's not really come back to form at all since his injuries and is way down the pecking order. You need one of Lennon, Wright Philips or at the least Walcott, in the starting 11 to 'get up 'em'

Depending on the opposition, IMO our best possible team would be
