  • Week # 13

    Lucky WeeK # 13

    Game # 1

Denver Broncos (7-4) at Kansas City (3-8)

    Broncos by 4 1/2

Cut off a cancerous tumor (LJ) and you'll be surprised what may happen. The Chiefs are much mor competitive w/o Larry Johnson and would be more so if they had a QB. Denver stopped the bleeding last week and need to win to stay in the playoff picture.

    Broncs in a tightie

    Game #2

Houston Texans (5-6) at Jacksonville Jaguars (6-5)

    Pick Em

The Texans can not finish games and sometimes the Jags can't get started. The Texan's fans are already writing Gary Kubiak's obit but it may be premature. Last year the Texans went 5-1 down the stretch and although they have lost 3 in a row they have been to super hot Titans and the undefeated Colts twice

    Texans start their comeback

    Game # 3

San Francisco 49ers (5-6) at Seattle Seahawks (4-7)

    Pick Em

Which 49er team will show up? The one that spanked the Jags last week? The Seahawks are tougher at home and Elizabeth's brother in law is healthy and if they can get some running going will make this a contest

The Niners in a nose pickem

    Game # 4

Minnesota Vikings (10-1) at Arizona Cardinals (7-4)

    Vikings by 3

Call this the "Geritol Bowl" with JaiDee's BFF Favre butting heads with the most famous grocery bagger in the NFL. The Saints are smoking but I think the Vikes are the most complete team in the league and they should show it Sunday.

    Vikings in a spanking

    Game # 5

Dallas Cowboys (8-3) at New York Giants (6-5)

    Cowboys by 1

Both teams have had a nice little break since turkey day but the Giants are the ones who laid an egg that day. Peyton's little bro has been playing like a one lately and if the Giants are going to make a run now is the time. Question is whether this is the time for the Boy's usual late season swoon under Romo's direction.

    Giants in a mild upset

    Monday Night Bonerus

Baltimore Ravens (6-5) at Green Bay Packers (7-4)

    Packers by 3

The Packers have had a long layoff with only a scrimmage on Turkey Day interupting their rest. The Ravens recovered from giving it up late to the Colts by knocking off their Division rival Steelers in a defensive struggle last weekend. The Raven D willonly slow down the Pack

    Packers 28-17

”I have absolutely No problem with Ohio State. It has a beautiful campus, and for a Junior College it has really great Academics.”

"Gentlemen and ladies, 'Those Who Stay Will Be Champions' is for you too. It's for every Michigan fan that's out there. When the going gets tough, you don't cut and run. It's not the Michigan way. If I heard it once from the old man, I heard it a thousand times -- when the going gets tough you find out who your real friends are, and that's why we must stay. Because there will be championships, and this staff and these kids will bring those championships here."

Denver Broncos (7-4) at Kansas City (3-8)

The Broncos narrowly avoided a complete collapse when they whalloped the Giants on Thanksgiving day. They've had over a week to rest now and Kansas City is pretty bad. I know the Broncos play bad in Arrowhead stadium, but this year is a bit different.

                        Broncos win.

Houston Texans (5-6) at Jacksonville Jaguars (6-5)

Both of these teams still have potential playoff spots to contend for. Neither of them will win their division however. But that doesn't matter at this point. Jacksonville laid an egg against the 49ers but they're a bad road team. The Texans had the Colts, but "Saint Peyton" is the best QB in the league so of course they ended up losing.

                        The Jags, though narrowly.

San Francisco 49ers (5-6) at Seattle Seahawks (4-7)

The Seahawks have one of the most difficult stadiums for visitors to play in. The 49ers are 3-4 against the Hawks in Seattle since 2004. These teams have similar records. Neither team has much of a shot at accomplishing anything here. I really don't know who to pick so I'll go for the home team.

                        Seahawks win, barely.

Minnesota Vikings (10-1) at Arizona Cardinals (7-4)

I have no reason to do this whatsoever, but I'm taking the Cards as an upset special this week. Favre is due for a lousy game. This is somewhat of a statement game for the Cards as well. I expect Hightower, Wells, and the two tight ends to wear down Jared Allen and the defense. I have nothing to go on this pick except for my gut. However, if Kurt Warner does not play, the Vikings will easily win. Leinart sucks.

                        Cardinals, in an upset.

Dallas Cowboys (8-3) at New York Giants (6-5)

The Giants have something to play for. The Cowboys are awful in December.

                        Giants win.

Baltimore Ravens (6-5) at Green Bay Packers (7-4)

The Ravens are coming off a win against the Steelers, but the Pack is looking more and more solid each week (the anomaly against the Bucs notwithstanding).

Packers win on Monday night, 24-16.

I totally expect all of my pics to lose. I realize I'm picking against the experts in a few cases. Just trying out a new theory...
