  • Week # 14

    Week # 14

    Game # 1

Green Bay Packers (8-4) at Chicago Bears (5-7)

    Packers by 3

Classic Norris Division match-up of age old rivals. Packers looked tough against the Ravens on Monday night but the Bears are hurting and hungry. I'm thinking upset.

    Bears in tight one

    Game # 2

Miami Dolphins (6-6) at Jacksonville Jaguars (7-5)

    Jaguars by 2 1/2

The orange and teal are comig off an upset of the mighty Pats and the Jags kept their kept their playoff hopes alive while eliminating the Texans. Look for the orange and teal to come back down to earth.

    Jags should prevail

    Game # 3

Washington Redskins (3-9) at Oakland Raiders (4-8)

    Redskins by 1

The Raiders seem to have found a QB finally and coming off their upset of the Steelers are actually playing football for a change. Can't see why the Skins are favored.

    Raiders in a squeaker

    Game # 4

San Diego Chargers (9-3) at Dallas Cowboys (8-4)

    Cowboys by 3

The super hot bolts with 7 in a row meet the Cowboys in their usual Romo December swoon. Tje Boys need this badly and I think will cool off the Bolts unfortunately

The Boys on a last second FG

    Game # 5

Philadelphia Eagles (8-4) at New York Giants (7-5)

    Giants by 1

The Giants kept their season alive last week and have had ten days to prepare but the Eagles and Donovan always get hot this time of year. This should be a Sunday night classic with the Eagles ending the Giants playoff hopes

    The Eagles stay hot

    Monday Night Bonerus

Arizona Cardinals (8-4) at San Francisco 49ers (5-7)

    Cardinals by 3

The Cards methodically took apart the smoking Vikings last Sunday night and look to move one step closer to clinching the West. The Niners are finally getting the production they expected from #1 draft choice Alex Smith but they are probably a year away.

    Cardinals 31-23

Billy Jaffe, Radio Voice of the Thrashers:
”I have absolutely No problem with Ohio State. It has a beautiful campus, and for a Junior College it has really great Academics.”

"Gentlemen and ladies, 'Those Who Stay Will Be Champions' is for you too. It's for every Michigan fan that's out there. When the going gets tough, you don't cut and run. It's not the Michigan way. If I heard it once from the old man, I heard it a thousand times -- when the going gets tough you find out who your real friends are, and that's why we must stay. Because there will be championships, and this staff and these kids will bring those championships here."

Green Bay Packers (8-4) at Chicago Bears (5-7)

The Pack's 3-4 defense is finally starting to look elite, Aaron Rodgers is a god-tier quarterback, and the o-line has only allowed 8 sacks over the last 4 games (a far cry from their shocking numbers earlier in the season). The Bears have completely fallen apart. Cutler still looks awful, Oleson will be shut down by Woodson, and Forte is a shell of himself.

The Pack wins, in a big way.

Miami Dolphins (6-6) at Jacksonville Jaguars (7-5)

The Dolphins are my team to upset the Patriots once again and win the division. Their loss to the Bills was tough, but that was a hungry team looking to win for their new coach. The Jaguars are a Jekyll and Hyde team and I'd wager they'll look more like Hyde than Jekyll this weekend. They're due for a loss.

      Dolphins win.

Washington Redskins (3-9) at Oakland Raiders (4-8)

The Redskins are favored for their defense, which is quietly doing its part to make the 'skins look somewhat respectable. QB Jason Campbell is also quietly having a good season. The Raiders' Gradkowski has played well the past few games. Al Davis' team is looking respectable in its own right, with an underrated defense led by two of the better cornerbacks in the AFC. Their running game is a joke, however. I still think the Raiders pull off a win over a demoralized Redskins team.

      Raiders win.

San Diego Chargers (9-3) at Dallas Cowboys (8-4)

The bigger question for me is, why are the Cowboys favored over the Chargers? We all know about the 'boys December collapses. Romo looked great last weekend, even though he takes flack for the losses. The Chargers are playing some of their best football ever, though. Philip Rivers isn't getting much MVP talk, but he is putting up MVP numbers. Their defense is *finally* coming together too. Look for their signature linebackers to shut down the Cowboy's offense, which has been suspect this season anyway.

      Chargers win.

Philadelphia Eagles (8-4) at New York Giants (7-5)

The Giants are such a feast and famine team that its hard to predict if they'll blow out a team or get crushed. They are a shell of their former 5-0 selves from earlier this season. The Eagles are so untrustworthy that they can lose to the Raiders one week and blow out the Falcons the next. Who knows what's gonna happen? I'm still banking on a Giants appearance in the post-season, so I'll take them.

      Giants win.

      Monday Night Bonerus

Arizona Cardinals (8-4) at San Francisco 49ers (5-7)

The Cardinals can clinch the NFC West for a 2nd time in a row by winning this game. They've come so far to establish themselves as a serious NFC contender that I'd have to be crazy not to trust Ken Whisenhunt's, Kurt Warner's, and Larry Fizgerald's ability to win this game. On the converse, the 49ers are still rebuilding themselves. Are they a pass-happy team as they demonstrated in their loss to Seattle last weekend? Or are they a "go out and hit people in the mouth" run-first team that lead the division for a few weeks earlier in the season? They are at least 2 years from being a playoff-caliber team at this point.

      Cardinals win, 31-20.
