This kind of suicides in Thailand news has got to be really embarrassing and irritating. As you read this article it becomes evident that even the President and the Minister of Defense Wongsuwan Prawit are indeed concerned for the safety of their tourists, farangs, business visitors. They are their best money tree. Apparently Prawit was able to access the records collected by the TM30a and Immigration laws to quickly identiify the victim. They did contact the survivors and to make doubly sure he was him they are going to conduct DNA tests to match with their DNA's. The Presdient and Praw are indeed kosher.
As for the matter of Diek Suhr. I am convinced by the lack of bruises that he did indeed take is own life by probably getting drunk or overdosing on a narcotic and insuring he will lose consciousness by drowning. Same thing happens when desperate people swallow too much alcohol and hang themselves by losing consciousness. It is too hard to die alone just by hanging or drowning. Without a drug they are afraid they might change their mind. With a drug there's a good chance they will be successful.
Because his history was examined he was "a man who had fallen out of contact with friends and family back home in Europe". I think he was suffering from one of the many mental illnesses that have published recently to make the public aware anybody can me mentally ill and not know it or admit it. These kinds of people probably planned their demises by "going out with a bang". Get stone drunk, fuck the most beautiful girl or boy they can find at the highest price so they can dispose of money they can't take with them to Heaven/Hell, get dead drunk, and swim out into the ocean where nobody will see, hear, or interfere with their determination to die. Sad but it works. Thailand is the kind of place where you can do these things. Probably the best place to do so.
So now I realize the need for TM30 and stricter immigration laws. It is not only a useful tool to combat terrorism, crime, drugs,and overstayers. The laws help Thais identify suiciders. There are indeed way too big a problem for any nation to bear. TM30 and hard line immigration is KOSHER.
