  • Your 'ON SCREEN' escapes?

When life gets you down - where do you hide?

Soap operas? Reality TV? Old movies? Re-runs of Red Dwarf? The History Channel?

Probably all of us reading this bury our problems of the real world by indulging in some cathartic escapism on the 'Idiot's Lantern!'

Where do you run and hide?

For me it's many things from British TV of the 70s and 80s (like Boon or The Young Ones) to any movie made in the 40s!

I can immerse myself in that world and forget about the real thing for a while!

So... where do YOU run to...

I like to get baked and watch Futurama. It's just silly stoner humor with a good dash of Vaudeville thrown in. The colors and the graphics are really amazing as well.

@ strocube- colors and graphics...huh? Maybe if you got the good stuff.

I like to 'tune-out' with any thing on TV. Like cartoons or a movie. especially if I can avoid commercials.
I also like the net. Surf mindlessly I have a wealth of useless knowledge that I can not recall...and usually sidetracked by boobs and butts

Basically when i watch TV which isnt that often i prefer the stuff from the 70s. Similar tastes to Sid like Columbo etc. I think some guys here think i spend all day watching Fox News when in reality i rarely watch any news programs as i take in at least one quality Newspaper every day plus several specialist Journals a week ( thats cleared that up). While in the Far East such as now i have CNBC on most of the time as they have some good snippets and mini documentaries at the weekends.

usually i read on the plane but the girl next to me was some kind of Vampire so i turned the light off and swithed to THOR the god of thunder on the movies channel. It started off in some wierd tongue with Chinese subtitles which i thought was part of the script but after 30 minutes they are still muttering in some Germanic voice so i guess that EVA screwed up as its supposed to be in English

I will make myself a tall Crown Black and Coke Zero, sign onto the computer and go back and forth between here and You Tube. I enjoy watching Pattaya videos on You Tube.

From the 70's I like The Rockford Files but I havent seen it on my cable system for a while. from the 80's Hill Street Blues was good in patches. Forgot to mention Hawaii 5-0-the original!!! Also, anyone remember Quincy from the 80's?? Loved that guy...

I do enjoy some "reality" TV but not the trash like Big Bro, American idol, housewives bullshit. I would rather poke a stick in my eye!!! The type of reality I enjoy is the following: Deadliest catch, Ice Road truckers, Locked Up abraod (a train wreck of stupid cunts), and my fav The First 48........

                BE CAREFUL OUT THERE!!!
