  • Back To The Future

Sitting on the couch last night and stumbled across this film. I watched about the first half before turning in. Have to say it stands the test of time. Lots of funny line and scenes. Havent seen it for ages and cannot believe its already 25 years old. Film came out in 1985.......

Years ago, I saw an interview with Biff. The guy was so quiet and soft spoken. He was really bullied in school and had a lot of issues because of it later in life. Strange I know......

Second film wasnt half bad either didnt care that much for the third installment though....

Yep I find myself glued to that one if its on.

A few others are like that for me as well:

    Where Eagles Dare
    The Deer Hunter
    The Godfather
    Stargate
    Gladiator

If they're on, I tend to watch them again.

Maybe I sound insensitive but its not the case at all. I do care!  But if I had to live my whole life based on how everyone might be sensitive to me.. I would not be living my life as I want it. So you can accept me and my flaws as I am or you can't.

Must be biorhythms or summat! I watched that movie also about a week ago...

Enjoyable 80s nostalgia kick. Fox is still in the spotlight even today. Recently did a funny set of images with a supermodel for a musician turned photographer... can't remember his name, though.
Just been watching the precursor to The Simpsons... 'Wait Till Your Father Gets Home!"

If you haven't seen this gem, try to. It's probably banned now but was (like The Simpsons) an 'adult but kid also' type comedy cartoon.

It was a kid program but really for adults and not everyone " got it" so to speak. It was on a long time ago and the father voice was the same father guy in the Fonz , ( cunninghams father), cant remember his name

The show was supposed make fun of Right Wing loonies like Ralph but was actually funny in a satirical way and most people who liked it were in fact right wing loonies like moi whom it was supposed to mock

Of course these anti right shows never hit the intended target as we only see the funny side and not the serious message that was intended and therefore they are to dangerous to show again as Bumpa pointed out.

In other words .. its not really supposed to be funny...but it is . (think of Alf Garnett and Archie Bunker... same same)

                Go figure that out

God what memories!! Wait till your Father gets Home was way ahead of its time and I think was the first cartoon to have real life guest stars - I particularly remember Phyllis Diller turning up as PD PI - a private eye investigating the young son's financial dealings.

The cartoon seemed to be painted like a water color... and there was no laughter track either.

Tom Bosley was the voice of the father.

I just watched the one where they try to catch a hippie for grandma's birthday! Funny stuff.

I don't imagine it got much airplay in the US as it was neither a kiddies program or something that would fit into a prime time slot.

Back then (1972) there were no cartoons for adults like there are now.

Our family loved it - probably for all different reasons!
