In my youth we used to stay near the US /Canadian border. It was considered great fun ( not sure now why!) to find a border marker and piss on the US side of it. Guess i was an II as well at some point

I'm not believing that until I see actual proof. I don't even have to live in the UK but its obvious to me you get certain rights: You can vote. You can own land. You can live there forever without having to obtain a visa. You can own a business. As you get elder you get benefits. You get free health care. And you choose to live in a land where you get nothing of this.

Sounds to me you just like a challenge.

But you're not alone. Some people are like that. They don't like life being easy and just leeching the system. They have to have some challenge to it so it feels like worth living.

Oh I know its racist and 1st and 2nd class and 3rd class neighborhoods and housing.

It isn't perfect but if he's white.. he'll still be far ahead and able to get a nice flat in a 1st class neighborhood than someone of black or brown skin. Facts are facts.

Eligibility for grants? You could always take a bank loan. I'm an ocean away and I didn't qualify for educational grants for some reason. Did I complain? No, I worked alongside studying and got a bank loan to pay for my college education and didn't ask my parents for a penny.

As far as getting a job, sure big companies like to show they're diverse but walk into any small business and they're more likely to hire him than any recent immigrant.

And yes Travis, I live in New York City. We aren't a tolerant society like you think either.

If he had said middle class person born in the UK, I might have agreed with him since I'm middle classed, and we take it from both sides, we're not poor, we're not insanely rich to bribe the politicians to help us, but once he said skin color, no that's not the way it is and I just had to question him.

Just out of interest, have any BM's been near the borders with Burma, Malaysia, Cambodia and Laos? I assume all but the border with Burma can be crossed with the right paperwork, but from what I know the drugs trade and malaria in the north-west makes this the most difficult part of the country--?

Can you be a bit more specific about where you want to travel? The Mae Hon Son area is fairly safe and you can travel down from there along the road of a thousand bends to Mae Sarieng, head east from there to Chiang Mai. or you can continue south down a vey interesting road to mae Sot, which is a border crossing into Burma (but not for farang). that northern part of burma is pretty dodgy but you can't visit it any way. its where the Shan and Karen have been fighting the army for years. Drugs trade isn't really an issue, nor is malaria. I've spent up to a month at a time in the remote areas and don't bother with anti-malarials. There's malaria centers up there on the offchance you catch it and there's no guarantee you will catch the strain of malaria you are taking drugs for.

Lower pecking order?

That's ownership via proxy. He can't own it but is through someone who's actually qualified to own before you. Its an abuse of the system but it doesn't mean you can't do something like that either. People do it here too. Its not unlike money laundering.

I actually know of a person in the US who owns 400 gas stations and doesn't pay tax on any of them claiming he operates them at a loss.

Ivor its got nothing to do with you being white my friend. You're entitled to the same and maybe more rights than this fuck face Muslim cleric but he is just part of these smart con artists who are very experienced at leeching the system. And of course this makes you and other brits frustrated over the state of affairs since evil people like him seem to make the largest fiscal donations to the politicians and very seldom face justice.

I think the problem is the government tries to help and it tends to get hoodwinked by the criminals. Its not that it hates you. It just needs a major overhaul of either stopping the helping or verifying who needs help.

Quite honestly its something I see quite often even from a religious point of view. People give money into the donation box at church so they can provide a few services. The only real services that're provided however, is a lush money market account for church officials. That's why I don't even bother making a donation there anymore.

Honestly other than providing food and education for people, I think these government help me programs are a waste of time. I hope the government officials realize it but you can change it with your vote because you get a right to.

And about not being able to visit soldiers in uniform.. I think that's sarcasm so that doesn't need a response.

Ivor's statement above about the hospitals is entirely true.
I would bet the service personel would not be allowed to complain about someone tending them wearing a burqa even if they had been blown up by someone wearing one.

Returning British service personel have been subjected to insults and attacks by Muslims while parading through their adoptive towns.
When the real locals turn on the Muslims to try to chase them away the police stop the locals as it's the Muslim's right to protest.
Love to see them exercising their right to protest in the countries they came from!

Local councils do sift through job applications and applications for community housing they apply a points sytem.
You get extra points if you are from an ethnic minority, a religious minority, and so on.
It's a standard joke here that you have more chance of getting work or council housing if you are a black, lesbian, single mother.
