Al Magrahi was just a political pawn offered up as a scapegoat to placate the cries for justice & to save Libya the pain of further retribution & sanctions.

The case against him was weak & had he been tried in front of a jury he would never have been convicted. (IMO) Even the 3 judges couldn't bring themselves to convict Lamin Khalifah Fhimah, also offered as a human sacrifice.

Once the various spy agencies discovered that it was Iran who were behind the bombing, the UK had a little problem with Al Magrahi. The Arab League demanded justice & as they control most of the oil, a compromise had to be reached.

I have no problem at all that he is now a free man & free of cancer. Did he ever have cancer? Just one more example of the truth not necessarily being what we are told.

There you go Travis. I vacillated over joining your Palestinian position but I am right behind you on this one. As for Azza's cry that he should rot in jail, I think an update on the available facts is enough to draw a different conclusion.

Azza-if you have ever looked at the case against him,and the contradictory evidence against the "official line" you would see it is not a theory.If ever anyone was "fitted up" for a crime it was him.It was politically expedient for Libya to take the rap.So he was offered up for sacrifice.
Incidentally,Jim Muir,the retired doctor who lost his only daughter in the plane crash,and who has investigated every aspect of the case since then,says Al magrahi is NOT the perpetrator.
If you delve even slightly into the Lockerbie case,you will be amazed at what you find.

Thank you for your open mindedness azza-it certainly isnt an open and shut case once you look into it.

I dont for 1 minute think that Israel did it-but I bet they knew who did.Mossad are 2nd to none when it comes to intelligence gathering,and forging passports.
