(JaiDee @ May 23 2010,11:57) I have heard and am tired of all 3000 songs many times over...
Opposite for me. I can't listen to new music. Almost everything after the mid 80s is a waste of time for me.
....I am just tired of the same ol' shit and would like something new and good to come along.
My collection largely stopped about the time that Pete Waterman & Simon Cowell aparently became the entire British record industry....

Out of hundreds of re-recorded/re-mixed tracks they have produced (I think it's hundreds it seems more like thousands)
I have only heard one or two that I thought improved on the original.

I accuse them of doing more harm to the record industry by finding semi-talented people they can manipulate to re-package old material,
rather than risking supporting new original talent.

Recently there does seem to be more original talent showing up.
Interestingly a lot of stuff now seems to appear on Youtube first and then finds it's way onto local/national radio.

Hopefully in this thread someone may list something that at least piques your interest.

"Them Crooked Vultures", a side project "supergroup", with John Paul Jones (the under-appreciated Zeppelin), Dave Grohl (Nirvana/Foo Fighters) on drums, and Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age). Not unlistenable.

Did a major cleaning of the place today & listened to all of the cd's of The Loving Spoonful, a woefully forgotten 60's band who were real originals at that time.
Also listened to Dave Edmunds to keep up the cleaning energy after that!

I'm usually listening to the stuff I've loved for years...Willie, Johnny, CCR, and Waylon.

IMO, this is real American soul. It reaches down to my soul anyway...

Two albums that are over 40/30 years old, the sad thing is the lyrical content is still relevant today

                    Had a 4-hour ride in the car yesterday, brought along some classics for the CD-player;

Aerosmith 2, 3 and 4 ..... Bachman Turner Overdrive "Not Fragile", Jethro Tull "best of"' and the soundtrack for "dazed and confused''

                    Old school stuff, baby!!

I was looking for something on Youtube and fell over this version of an old Andrews Sisters song which I think is better than the original even though it's performed solo halway up a mountain!

There is another clip which seems to be her own work  -  I think it's bloody brilliant!        Watch out for the cow........

Can't stop playing both of these.

bootleg of a Genesis concert from 1976 - "Wind and Wuthering" tour, the first with new drummer Chester Thompson and the second tour without Peter Gabriel on vocals. First tour with Phil on vocals featured Bill Bruford (from King Crimson and Yes) on drums, but the stuff with Chester is actually way better.
