12 years ago I admired this quality about us also....you know, when we had a good economy and weren't involved in any crippling wars?(Bumpa STIKKA @ May 19 2010,01:04) They care..... even less what people think of them.
But that fool with the big ears and president Cheney changed all that; to where we have became the butt of jokes between 2001 and 2010 about being all-powerful and ''policemen of the world'' and other such nonsense; so as a Yank I am now offended by the {large} crowd who follow Fox news and the Tea Bagger assholes who puff out their chests and claim "America Number one, Boyyyyy" while drinking their Bud cans and watching NASCAR; it makes us all look like buffoons.
Anyway, there are enough political threads around this room so I won't start another, I only posted that one thought because I got an e-mail from a French Canadian friend this week.....he knows I travel to Thailand a lot and was making sure I was safe and not in the middle of any conflict in BKK.......my friend for 25 years, leave it to a guy from Montreal to be following the news; but when my friends and family get together here in new england and we discuss world news, hardly any of 'em can even manage an 'Oh, ya?' when I tell them there have been riots and conflict in Thailand for 2 months now. Again, quite sad.Even a broken clock is right twice a day.Comment

You know what's weird jaidee I'm a giants fan and you I'm assuming are a pats fan but I bet you we can probably get along much better than either of us gets along with a jets fan.
P.S. I'm a yankee fan too.
Maybe I sound insensitive but its not the case at all. I do care! But if I had to live my whole life based on how everyone might be sensitive to me.. I would not be living my life as I want it. So you can accept me and my flaws as I am or you can't.
