UPDATE
The Chinese are going to build the tallest building in the world and the renouned architect claims that it will be finished in 12 weeks.. at 870 Metres thats some feat. 16,000 rooms and all done on a strict budget. All expense has been spared . They state that it will cost half of what the Kuala Lumper thing cost to stick up and wil include a Hotel on the top.
They put up a six story Exibition centre in a day and a 16 Story Hotel in two weeks. He uses some kind of prefabricated units but like all new Chinese Technology im not sure how long the trials lasted.
There is an inaugaration party on the top floor but i have politely declined my invitation . Many celebrites will be attending... sounds kind of familiar .
This was published in some English Language China Business newspaper that i have at home if anyone want more info.

Former Protest Leader Jailed for Gesturing About Censorship
January 18th, 2013
Via: New York Times:
http://www.nytimes.com/2013....ml?_r=0
It has become almost routine in Thailand for judges to hand down jail sentences to those convicted of offending the country۪s king. But an unusual ruling issued on Thursday appears to considerably broaden the interpretation of Thailand۪s already restrictive l̬se-majest̩ law.
In sentencing a former protest leader to two years in prison, a court ruled that the defendant was liable not only for what he said, but also for what he left unsaid.
The criminal court€™s ruling said the defendant, Yossawarit Chuklom, had not specifically mentioned the king when he gave a speech in 2010 to a large group of people protesting the military-backed government then in power.
But by making a gesture of being muzzled €” placing his hands over his mouth €” Mr. Yossawarit had insinuated that he was talking about the king, the court ruled.
€œEven though the defendant did not identify His Majesty the king directly,€ the court ruled, Mr. Yossawarit€™s speech €œcannot be interpreted any other way.€

Thai PM's site defaced with smutty abuse

Shinawatra accused of being worst PM EVER!
By Phil Muncaster €¢ Posted in Government, 9th May 2013 03:46 GMT
Free whitepaper €“ Hands on with Hyper-V 3.0 and virtual machine movement
The Thai Prime Minister€™s Office web site is out of action after hackers yesterday defaced the home page with insulting slogans, although the group implicated in the attack says it was framed.
Glamorous Yingluck Shinawatra, the sister of exiled former PM Thaksin Shinawatra, has been a controversial figure in Thailand since she swept to power in 2011.
The site defacement included a picture of her laughing alongside the words €œI€™m a slutty moron€, and later, "I know that I am the worst Prime Minister ever in Thailand history!!!", according to The Hacker News.
Responsibility for the hack was claimed by local duo Unlimited Hack Team, however a message on their Facebook page denies all responsibility and claims that rival hackers may be trying to unfairly blame them for the attack.
Google Translate has done its worst to garble the meaning but The Bangkok Times translated the rest as follows:
Every time Unlimited Hack Team hacked a website we'll come out to claim responsibility. People should wait for police to find the perpetrators and punish them.
The paper also quotes Suranand Vejjajiva, the secretary-general to the PM's Office, as saying that the culprits will be charged under the country€™s controversial Computer Crime Act.
€œHacking a website is easy... but don't forget that checking who did it is not hard either,€ he added.
Human rights activists are increasingly concerned that the 2007 law is being misused under the Shinawatra regime to stifle freedom of speech.
The act penalises any €œfalse computer data€ which could cause damage to a third party or national security. However, given Thailand€™s strict and somewhat anachronistic lèse majesté law, defaming the monarchy could be viewed as damaging national security.
In a highly celebrated case around a year ago, Thai webmaster Chiranuch Premchaiporn was given an eight month suspended sentence after a defamatory user-generated comment was left on her site for 20 days.
Most recently labour rights activist Somyot Prueksakasemsuk was sentenced to a whopping 11 years in jail in January 2013, after campaigning against lèse majesté and penning articles critical of the monarchy.
NGO Freedom House€™s latest Freedom of the Press index rates the country as €œNot Free€, putting it in the same boat as repressive regimes such as Ethiopia, China and Iran. ®

Great story Torurot! I don't know if they have a follow up - would be interesting to know if she went through the entire SRS process.
I've taken the liberty of capturing the photos from the website.
Here's the Register story.

A fugitive Colombian criminal is back behind bars a year after escaping from custody. Local cops are happy that they've got the man they were after, though in fact she is now a bounteously endowed lady.
Giovanni Rebolledo was slapped with a 60-year prison sentence last year in Bogotá, for a raft of offences including manufacture, selling and possession of firearms, robbery, kidnapping, torture, and possession of drugs.
Evidently disinclined to do his time, Rebolledo escaped, and made his way to the northern coastal city of Baranquilla where he appears to have changed sex. Last Saturday she was apprehended by cops working the city's Viejo Prado district - an area "frequented by transvestites and prostitutes", according to Bogotá newspaper El Tiempo.
When approached by the fuzz, Rebolledo gave the name "Rosalinda", and while her considerable charms might have been expected to put the bloodhounds of the law off the scent it seems that the luckless crook's ID card proved all too revealing.
As part of the gang known as "los Topos" (the Moles), Rebolledo was involved in several kidnappings where male victims were seduced in a honeytrap sting, then tortured with electric shocks and beatings until they "handed over their PIN numbers, cash and other valuables", according to police.
Six other members of the gang were also sentenced to 60 years apiece for their involvement in the operation, El Tiempo notes. ®Attached Files
