    When tin hats were brought in it meant that men were likely to get head injuries and not always killed stone stead by the bullet or shrapnel
    So... you mean... they died, but not from a head injury, kinda... what do you call a hole in the skull?

      If you get a bullet in the head you are generally dead and not hospitalized and so its the Graveyard and not recorded as a battlefield head injury..

      perhaps i phased it wrongly.

                    Dyslexia is a lot more common than most people realise.

                    Many people have a limited form where they have problems with certain letter combinations.    I have problems with ie or is it ei ?        

                    In words like chief or field the letters look wrong to me whichever way round I put them.     I have to keep repeating to myself;-  I before e except after c.
