(PigDogg @ Apr. 06 2010,16:58) Yo Manarak, I'll help u out with a few reviews.

I like Agoda as it generally is cheap and they have much better customer service than I anticipated.

Their reviews are trustworthy since u must have booked thru them to post a review.  With Trip Advisor hotel owners post good reviews under an alias.
Yep, I agree. Trip Advisor is a bit of a joke. Not just owners writing great things about their place but, competition doing the opposite. From 2005, the place that can't be mentioned, has been attacked, by one post Trip Advisor wonders. And, in December 2009, they published a very sad report about the Diana Inn. Is this fair? Or, is this just how it is in Pattaya?

You can say that again! I just checked out all the comments on Trip Adviser for this hotel...

      €œOptimised for your pleasure€

Pattaya has a wide range of accommodation options to suit most budgets however the last couple of times I have visited I€™ve stayed at the Penthouse Hotel Soi 2 not far from the start of Walking Street and pretty much bang in the centre of the action in Pattaya. The Penthouse is a unique place €“ well if you know of anything similar elsewhere I€™d love to know. Rather than the normal bog standard rooms it€™s a boutique hotel with each room a bit different but all optimised for ecstasy. For me perhaps the key feature of all the rooms is the extensive mirroring including ceiling mirrors. This means that when you are being pleasured by your honey(ies) you can see all the action from every angle. The rooms also all have cable TV including several €œinteresting€ extra channels and wifi access if you bring your laptop. The different rooms have a variety of other features including min and full size Jacuzzis, gogo poles, swings , big flat panel tvs etc. If you are travelling with a buddy, and are keen to swap girls then some of the bigger rooms come with 2 full sized beds /Jacuzzis or if you prefer more privacy you could go for connecting rooms with a shared party Jacuzzi. Service includes an option to have your bedroom made up twice a day which helps if you are aiming for round the clock action, the hotel thoughtfully has blackout curtains and a policy of the maids doing your room when YOU want rather than when THEY want. Only a couple of grumbles really, the rooms have so many lighting options and gizmos that sometimes it takes 10 minutes to figure out how to switch off all the lights or find out which operates which.

Of course you are going to pay a premium for this kind of experience however for the price of a bog standard motel room in the US or Europe you are looking at a palacial room that you will remember for the rest of your life. The only problem is that none of your mates back at home or the fools who pay twice as much for a box room at the Marriott, Holiday Inn or hard rock cafe is going to believe you when you tell them what you have had for that kind of money. The room rates start at about USD 30 but say USD 65 gets you a room you are going to remember for ever!
      Nicely written, Dudley!

(Bumpa STIKKA @ Apr. 07 2010,15:20) In order of importance...

        1 - LB friendly?
        2 - Clean?
3 - Wifi and breakfast included?
        4 - Price?
        5 - Location?
Joiner fee policy is a must to include - especially for hotels in Phuket.
aye, joiner policy is at the center of the site, I list only hotels where joiners are allowed, and I have 3 categories:
        - charging for joiners
        - one free, charge for more (as DIG does)
        - all joiners free

Unless it's peak season or you or friends have previously stayed in the hotel. it's best not to pay for more than two nights which makes for an easy exit strategy.

There are many reasons why one might want to change hotels even if the room is fine and the staff friendly.

Trip Advisor negative reviews are quite useful. Though I think the extremely negative reviews are somewhat exagerated, the hotel management must have really pissed people off so mice turn into rats etc.

Postive reviews are only useful if the poster has reviewed many hotels since human nature is such that owners will write phoney postive reviews.

Most will say nothing while they are there, then spill it all out behind a secret user name...

Sorry mate, I didn't actually read your site.

Just did then and well put together with joiner fee info.
And it matches some emails i recently had from those those hotels.

I actually read the negative reviews on Trip Advisor with a lot of interest - great reviews of course are good, but I'm interested to hear what the negatives might be. Usually, you can tell a lot about the place by reading the negative reviews with a bit of a filter on. If the person says there's too many stairs, for instance, you know they're either elderly or a lazy fu** and can be disregarded. If they say the manager was a jerk, it can usually be interpreted to mean that THEY are a jerk. But if patterns emerge from a number of negative reviews, you've got to decide whether that is something that is a problem for you.
