Looking at people at least 20 years younger than me walking around town this high season I'm amazed that they have no self-discipline. The Aussies seem to be the worst offenders, both male and female wallowing around. I'd be embarassed if I got into that state. I get hacked off if I pile on a kilo!!
I couldn't give a shit how long it is until you're next holiday- I live here

You summed it up nicely - a Western woman doing an impersonation of a 'spacehopper' is a complete turn off.

What amuses me is the fortune Western woman spend on gyms, diets, slimming clothes, sun tans, beauty products when all they need to do is lose weight and stop feeding their fat faces. Why does a Western woman ask "Does my ass look big in this?" - why ask when they know the answer.

The Western woman wanted equality and it became 'sexist' (believe it or not) to treat them like women - go figure.

SE Asia women know how to be female and do it with ease - a woman has more weaponry in her arsenal by being feminine than trying to compete at being a male - not sure where LadyBoys fit in though! Actually evne the LBs are more feminine than the beer swilling, popcorn stuffing fat, obese average western woman.

Soem exceptions - Italian and French women seem to have a way of wearing a 'bin bag' and looking sultry.

As my old man used to say - "stop telling jokes about my wife - God has done that already!"

Sadly you do see more chubby Asian kids now than ever before - usually in a McDonalds

Having lived and indulged in Thai food for a number of years I see a mixed bag. The good part is the huge amounts and wide variety of fresh fruit and vegetables in proportion to other things. Just wonderful. The other thing is smaller portion sizes and more frequent meals which studies are starting to show is better for a person. The bad part is many things are made too greasy, with too much sugar, and all fat/skin is consumed.

When I get out of Bangkok I am astonished the little convenience stores have nothing healthy outside of water--nothing. It is unbelievable. Not so much as a single instance of real juice, just artifical flavored and sweetened junk. No plain milk/soy drinks, just types loaded with sugar. No plain tea, just sweetened. No unsweetened yogurt. Just nothing at all healthy. Kids all over the country seem to frequent convenience stores daily and get a sugary drink with a bag of greasy junk food and the selection reflects this very well.

Thai cooking can be healthy and often is, but it's sort of like western food in that the individual has to make the right choices. More and more Thai people are going for the less healthy stuff. And common cooking habits with unnecessary amounts of oil, sugar, skin & fat could be improved.

          Rossco,

Once a woman standing in front of a mirror looking at herself asked me the question we all dread:

"Does this dress make me look fat?"

          My answer:

"No dear, it is the fat that makes you bum look fat"
