(Bumpa STIKKA @ Mar. 20 2010,14:22) Please don't tell me that pharmaceutical companies would have gone to all this trouble to invest in and create drugs without the Americans to pay for them.
The hospital machines that we all take for granted around the world today would not be available at all if the Americans hadn't paid a very high price for them in the past.
The Canadian system works for Canadians. The UK system works for the UK and in America their system works for them.
But let's be clear - the global advances of health care, drugs and health care machines have all come from the 'pay as you get sick' system in USA.

You think the companies who's financial future depends on creating and developing new drugs and new technologies will just STOP doing that?
"No, we used to make money introducing all these fancy new drugs and heavily advertising them, but now that we can only make 1/3 the profits that we used to, we're getting out of that business."
Think about it. What are Glaxo and Nova Health Systems going to do, become a beverage manufacturer? Start making refrigerators?
