Well, I've been told to be careful not to post certain things about certain establishments and I have listened to that very well; it's not my property anymore so I have to follow the rules here like everyone else and I do.

 But the Fish Box is a free-for-all with very little moderation and for topics NOT related to the LB scene; ladyboys are still attractive to me, sure they look cute and all that...but I really have no clue about what's happening these days in the "Bkk bar scene'' or "Pataya stars and bars'' so I just don't enter those rooms, same as Trip Reports and New questions, Ernesto's room, etc, because they simply don't interest me anymore.  If Paultain or Nemisis or anyone else finds this room to be boring as well I have no idea why they would come in here.

So some people wander in here because they can't access the rooms they would REALLY like to access and then won't fork over the measly 1 dollar a week to do so??  Then they deserve to read the garbage spewed forth in here!!

I must be getting old but I find the abuse unsettling & I endorse Manarak's comments.

It happens so rarely on this forum that people get really out of control so we usually let the posters and posts and threads die of natural causes.

I don't think that one drunken outburst by one poster is anything to get too alarmed about.

If you are a member of other online communities then you'll probably experience either extreme censorship and over moderation or the opposite which is a free for all by everyone where no sense can be made from any threads.

I think we have a good balance here.

Sure - someone will rock the boat and start typing some entertaining guff but it always blows over.

This forum rarely reigns people in and it makes for far more interesting reading. too much moderation makes for a boring message board.

I must confess I am frightened by people who lose control when they are drunk, because I think alcohol wouldn't be the only influence that makes them go crazy.
For example intense stress or anger/sadness. One day they are fine, the other day you must handle them like liquid nitro...

Not too serious though if it is limited to insulting people using the spoken and written word.
But I am not sure that physical violence would be a big step away.

where I stay in the winters I see drunk asswipes all the time.....the alcoholic drinks they imbibe are extremely strong, and of course they can't handle it, especially if they start at 2pm {in the strong sun} and now it's midnight and they are annoying the fuck out of me and everyone around me; times ten.

I can't stand drunk people, especially being someone who drinks very little and knows when to stop....seeing drunks acting so stupidly when you are sober makes you realize not to get carried away yourself when you DO start to drink a bit. I learned a cool trick from my sexy Russian friend Ivana, who blows off men trying to hit on her with a simple hand wave and a "sorry, I don't-a speak englis'' line, and they leave right away. Now, when a drunk whom I don't know approaches me for a chat or starts to put his arm around me or some other such nonsense, I throw out the same line; works every time and they are gone within seconds.

yeah - but don't get me wrong, I don't think getting drunk until you drop is wrong, I think behaving inappropriately when drunk is wrong.

I sometimes get very very drunk (I dropped a couple of times) and do silly things, but I'm enjoying myself and not abusing others.

I think the guys loosing it because of alcohol can turn violent - THAT scares me.

So please, if you know you lose control when drunk, don't drink enough for it to happen.
