St Patricks day is a great day. No other country has a national day as popular, as it is celebrated throughout the world. I think the Irish people should demand Thursday to be a public holiday aswell and try to increase tourism leading up to it and organise more events aswell. Maybe an outdoor concert by U2 and the likes. Threaten to take away all their artist tax breaks if they dont comply. I was in Dublin last week and there was a real buzz in the air coming up to Paddys day.

Ah I remember years ago I had my own St Patricks day parade on Koh Chang. Driving up and down White Sand Beach on my bike wearing my green T and snorkel gear while beeping loadly at all the Germans. Those were the days.

 The Irish have the most-famous holiday by far in the USA; the Greeks, Italians, French, Spanish, et al ...... would love to have a day as celebrated as ours is, but it just doesn't happen. Southie in Boston will be insane today, I haven't missed the parade [and associated imbibing of spirits] down there since I was a wee lad and today will be no different.
