Western living expenses

Don't drink wine, it gives me heartburn.  Never keep beer in my house and only drink it sparingly when I do go out in Asia. My biggest expenses are on food, and mostly junk western food at that!  If I laid off the snacks and hamburgers I could spend even less.

  I think KL was referring to travel in Thailand and not living there, and because of the fact that the pound is so weak against the baht right now.  But it's obviously much cheaper to live in Thailand than in any western, so-called "first-world'' country; by about 1/2 or even more!  I will move there or some similar 3rd world country some day, I am weighing my options now daily; and for sure I know I can live on 1500- 2000 per month, and have a GREAT lifestyle. No way a person can do that in America, simply no way.

Wouldnt know how id live the normal life in Los with so much around to enjoy yourself, the difference is just that.
if there was a p4p scene like los in uk then id say living exp would be same, but as i just holiday there, my weekly exp in uk is like a day in los. but as i say im on holiday, so if i lived in los and try to live as i holiday 1, id be broke & 2 prob dead in few month

This has been chatted about often up here, and myself and the old moderator here used to always have fun picking out the punters who moved to Thailand whom we knew would be gone rather quickly; they were always the guys who tried living their normal, new life in a foreign country as though they were on vacation ALL the time!!

and that never works, of course....either you burn out or run out of cash; or both.


I usually try to spend 5 or 6 months in Asia every year, and 6 in the west; and as mentioned above some day soon that will be 12 months. And I know I can live cheaply, I have done it many times before; and I see friends who live quite well for under 2K US per month so I know I can do it as well.

Cutting down on; going out, whoring, drinking, meeting with people, etc.....are all essential.
