      (geosight @ Feb. 04 2010,16:39) Man ! Fucking gorgeous ,

I would be very interested in what you paid for it and the type of insurance you pay  . I had a 749 back in Sydney .Never thought of driving around BKK on one though .
Have you had any problems with them being stolen ?

      Anyway love the white one
      Hi Geosite:

No problems with having anything stolen yet thank Buddha, here's hoping it stays that way. I do live in a gated community and have pretty good lock-up security in my house too.
Insurance is not too bad in LOS. About on a par with Aussie. The 999s costs me 3200baht/year, which is third class insurance. Contrary to what people tell you the 600baht compulsory insurance gives you very little coverage: You need decent third class to cover the hospital costs of any persons injured. First class insurance covers everything and for the 999s is about 24,000 baht a year. Not the end of the world.
HOWEVER: its all null and void unless you get a Thai drivers/motorcycle license. (Note they are seperate licenses.)
It is purely common sense to protect your ass in LOS by doing everything by the Thai book. If you come a gutser it pays to have the paperwork right.
PS: Don't ride in BKK unless you change out the clutch slave cylinder for a after market one. (30% reduced load.). By the time I got through traffic in BKK and Samui my left arm was fully pumped and aching.

Best riding in Thailand is between Sunrise and 2pm Monday to Saturday. Sunday drivers are worse here than in Aussie or UK. Really ting tong. And after 3pm you got the 11 year old schoolies on scooters zipping across intersections without a thought about crossing traffic.

                  (f0xxee @ Feb. 07 2010,02:44) Hi Fiona,

Just a thought on your riding apparel...

Even at 20kpm a slide off the bike causes a lot of skin damage... wear a jacket, gloves and shoes....I got scars from falls where I didn't have leather on and I will for life. I know its hot, but its a better option.
                  thank you foxxee...

i know that will be the proper outfit.. but i don't even like wearing helmet hehe..
mostly after swim in the ocean..
wet on bikini.. with my bf sit behind me.. hehehe...

                  i miss my bike though...

                      Hi Pentire:

You are correct: I have not been advertising the fact and to be honest I am really still unsure about posting pics of Mrs F as the Monger factor runs deep here.
Sufficient to say all is well and happy and ther is a lot more to the girl than is superficially apparent: she has intelligence, heart and soul that makes her capable of being so much more than just a lover: she is my mate.

                        Hi Miss F,

In the great words of the Budha: "Up to you". But leather is cheap and sexy. Skin is sexy and expensive. I love a gorgeous girl in cut off shorts and a bikini on a bike as much as ther next guy. But having seen up close and personal the damage when bare skin hits tarmac I have a preference.

Hope you throw a leg over (your bike) soon!

That's nice to hear and I have to say she looks great, perhaps a few kilos heavier than her former days but it definitely suits her.
Long may your happiness together continue

perhaps the leather does not flatter her. Gyk is a babe. Delicious. My tirak. She is still making men stare.
When are you back? we are overdue a drink.

(f0xxee @ Feb. 08 2010,20:09) you are welcome to borrow the 999s and come for a ride.
I know this invite wasn't directed at me but I can't imagine you refusing hospitality to a fellow countryman...

I think a ride in the country sounds like a great idea...

I have never ridden a big bike but I did have a go on one on X-Box once.

                              How different could it be?
Despite the high cost of living, it continues to be popular.
