  • The USA should be so fortunate as to have Ron Paul for President. He is the only candidate in recent history who understands what the oath of office means and is the only one who would take the oath seriously.

Romney, Palin, Huckleberry Hound, or any other Rep do not deserve to be mentioned anywhere close to the same breath as Ron Paul.

    • (Snick @ Mar. 19 2010,21:36) The most recent poll had Ron Paul #1. Romney 2nd. Palin was 3rd
Oh, sorry.....I should have mentioned the poll I saw was on the FOX comedy channel.

Of course they had this white-teeth and no substance whore first, at 15%; the equally pretty and equally no-substance empty suit Romney {who owns a lake house in my state; the future presidential retreat??  uggghhhh} was at 12% and Huckleberry was 3rd .... sheeeh, so shocking, considering he has a weekly religious chatfest on that very network!!

The right wing....can you please just give up?? You are embarrassing yourselves.

Uhoo I'm agreeing with lefty here.
Some of Ron pauls ideas are exreme. Not necessarly wrong just so far from the current way things are done, that it's hard to see him acomplishing everything he wants. But I'd still like to see him try

Isn't that what it is going to take if America is ever going to get their house in order? Harsh medicine delivered by a true reformer.

Here in Oz Ron Paul is considered the loan voice of reason amongst those self-obsessed, self-aggrandizing, mealy mouthed bunch of fools who masquarade as US Congressmen & Senators.

And if you think I sound a bit biased, I don't have a high opinion of most politicians in any country.

          • I was refering more to his desire to get rid of the FED reserve and go back to the gold standard.
Taking into account his dislike of the credit markets. It's kind of cruel for you to refer to him as the loan voice of reason.

            • I'm afraid if Ron Paul ever did get elected, he'd suffer the same fate as JFK. Paul would just step on too many toes of the rich and power elite.

excellent line...           You realise I was being ironic & meant to write that...

Ever since FDR pounced on the poisonous theories of that posturing fool John Maynard Keynes & cited him as justification for breaking the US dollar away from the gold standard, the ol' greenback's fate was sealed.

In complete contravention of the Constitution that tied the value of one dollar to 8.1 grams of silver, the dollar was free to be inflated to infinity. Which has now been done.

An ounce of gold today buys no more than an ounce of gold bought 3 thousand years ago. It is the only way to keep inflation from destroying the value of savings.

Ron Paul wants the US government to obey the Constitution & rid the system of all the rorts. He would face the greatest fight of any President to undo that which has been done. But he swears he will do it, given the chance.

I pray he gets that chance.

                • I wonder how many US Americans know that the "Fed" is privately owned. As always, privatise the profits, "socialise" the losses!
